Full Job Description
WorleyCord is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Estimator to work in our Edmonton or Calgary, Alberta office.

Responsibilities:
  • Review all aspects of the RFP documents
  • Participate in the kickoff meetings with the project team and progress meeting throughout the bid stages
  • Lead the project bid team for all Electrical and Instrumentation requirements. and be an effective contributor on the project bid team.
  • Gather all information for the project team for the development of Proposal bid package
  • Liaise with the Project Manager, and Project Controls to present key elements of the estimate which will influence the development of a bid schedule and project execution plan that is accurate, achievable, and meets the owner's requirements
  • Develop a basis of estimate - Lump Sum, Target Price, Unit Rates, Create or modify templates used in Excel to build pricing
  • Ensure WBS is adhered to while quantifying work.
  • Develop scopes of work for subcontractors and RFP packages
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to understand the scope of work
  • Research work locations for local subcontractors within the area and build relationships
  • Support subcontractor technical clarifications during the bid cycle
  • Support subcontractor bid evaluations and make recommendations
  • Develop clarifications pertaining to WorleyCord work - review subcontractor's exceptions and exclusions
  • Monitor the deadlines of the Bid and identify and resolve areas where the deadline may be breached
  • Coordinate with Project Estimators, subcontractors, vendors, etc. to provide input in a timely fashion to ensure the bids are completed and delivered to the Client on time
  • Support quantity checks at a summary level for other aspects of the estimate
  • Other duties assigned

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience as an estimator in an industrial environment
  • Knowledge of industrial construction within field and mod yard locations
  • Experience within an electrical and instrumentation (E&I) estimating role with some civil, structural, or mechanical experience within the industrial construction industry
  • Alberta Industry Trades Certification or
  • Engineering or technical background in Electrical & Instrumentation (diploma or degree, CET, RET, P.Eng) is preferred
  • Understand the detail required for the review of a bid package
  • Possess proven construction methodologies
  • Proven competency in the operation of key office software and productivity tools such as: MS Office, NAVIS Works, Adobe Reader
  • Experience working with FTP sites and navigation of AutoCAD is preferred
