Rincon Research Corporation seeks a DSP/Communications Engineer to create cutting edge solutions to challenging national security and defense signal processing, geolocation, and communication problems. You will work in a multi-disciplinary R&D environment with similarly skilled and motivated electrical engineers, mathematicians, and computer scientists/engineers in a highly rewarding personal and professional environment.
What are the primary responsibilities in the DSP/Communications Engineer position?
Research, design, and develop digital signal processing (DSP) and communications systems deployed across CPU, GPU, and FPGA platforms.
Participate in all phases of the product development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and testing.
Apply engineering, software, and mathematical analysis principles to the development of system solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop and evaluate hardware-software interfaces, operational performance requirements, and overall system design.
Develop test procedures and comprehensive technical documentation.
Communicate within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes, and technical approaches.
What required background will make you successful?
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Experience with one or more high-level language for signal processing algorithm development: Python (NumPy SciPy), MATLAB, X-Midas, etc.
Some experience with some combination of C/C++
Experience with design of digital signal processing algorithms
Experience with implementation of signal processing algorithms on CPU, GPU, and or/FPGA
Ability to communicate algorithms and designs in written and oral reports
Ability to quickly grasp and come up-to-speed with complex code bases/designs
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
Satellite communications
Cellular communications systems

Novel signal processing algorithm development

Preferred skills:
Advanced degree in EE or related field (applied math, physics, etc)
Experience with Linux
Strong software implementation background
Ability to lead teams of 2-3 multidisciplinary engineers/scientists
Demonstrated success working with geographically distributed teams
Interest, aptitude, and/or experience in participating as a technical contributor to business capture
Where is the position located?
This position is located at our Chantilly, VA office. Remote work/telework is not available for this position.
*The likely salary range for this position is $172,000 to $209,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
