About the job
Texas Instruments is looking for an energetic engineer with a passion for process. This position provides the opportunity to drive continual improvement at all levels. Our team is primarily focused on process development. We are searching for a self-directed, highly motivated engineer to join our team.

The responsibilities of a Process Development Engineer in this role include:
  • Develops new or modified processes, defines processing and equipment requirements and specifications; reviews processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture of products
  • Involvement may begin at any step from paper study, pilot plant to full-scale manufacturing
  • Compiles and evaluates test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications
  • May conceive and plan projects involving definition and selection of new concepts, equipment, chemistry, automation technology, approaches in the processing or development of new or improved processes
  • Provides technical engineering support in the manufacturing area
  • Recommends and implements equipment and process modifications to improve production efficiencies, manufacturing techniques, fundamental capabilities and production yields for existing products.
  • Develops and conducts statistical analysis such as Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) targeting physical causes of failure for yield loss and improving quality
  • Partners with vendors to define and execute on equipment and process development roadmaps


Qualifications

Minimum requirements:
  • Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
  • 5 years relevant experience in 300mm Dry Etch
  • Strong foundation in statistical process control, Design of Experiments (DOE), data analysis, model-based problem solving, engineering change control, and process release strategies


Preferred qualifications:
  • Previous direct R&D experience in 300mm semiconductors
  • Experience with HKMG and/or Silicon Photonics strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of advanced CMOS device physics and reliability mechanisms in advanced logic and CMOS technologies
  • Experience across multiple 300mm etch platforms, multiple vendors, and conductor and dielectric etch experience
  • Device physics training with understanding of materials and electrical test characterization
  • Data analysis skills
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions and locations
  • Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
  • Working well in a team environment is imperative in this role
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships
  • AI/ML and scripting experience
  • Good listener and excellent verbal and written communication skills
