Job Summary

The Drill Services Specialist supports the management of drill services contracts and programs, both surface and underground. The incumbent will be responsible for tracking drilling activities, coordination with mine and other contract service personnel for station preparations and maintenance and purchasing of drilling products will be the focus of this position to ensure minimal drilling down-time and overall program budget management.

Essential Functions

  • Work directly with KRO (Kettle River Operations) geologists for details on drilling programs.
  • Ordering of materials for surface pad construction and downhole drilling additives.
  • Data entry and tracking of contractor-supplied daily shift reports vs budget.
  • Safety inspections of drill pads, rigs and crews.
  • Coordination with mine personnel, maintenance teams and outside contracting groups to establish drill bays and surface pads.
  • Perform mine services work to aid in operations of drilling activities as required.
  • Management of yard storage catalogue and storage procedures.
  • Coordination between drill service providers and core processing team on deliveries and priority materials.
  • Provide assistance to core processing group for yard work and logistical items.
  • Work independently within broad guidelines to solve non-standard problems, applying best practices to improve geological processes and outcomes.
  • Fosters a collaborative, safety-focused, and results-driven culture within the geology team and across operational departments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications and Skills

  • High School Diploma (or GED upon interview).
  • 1-3 years, related experience in geology or drilling services preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple assignments at once.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite product software preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data management.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Operation experience on construction or other warehousing equipment preferred.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work on a team and independently.
  • Valid drivers license and authorized to work in the US.
