Job Description

Dosimetrist at Providence St. Joseph Hospital Eureka, CA. This position is Full time and will work 8-hour, Day shifts.

Under the direction of the Director/Manager and clinical oversight of the Physicist, and with latitude for independent judgment, ensures precise and accurate treatment plans, dose calculations, and dosimetry considerations for patients undergoing radiation therapy. Assists the physicist in calculating dosages for brachytherapy procedures. Acts in compliance with Federal, State, and Joint Commission standards. Performs duties under minimum supervision.

Required Qualifications:
  • Must meet the education requirements of the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB) for Certified Medical Dosimetrists (CMDs).
  • Upon hire: National Certified Medical Dosimetrist - Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board.
  • 3 years working as an ARRT or CRT licensed technologist.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 year as a Certified Dosimetrist.
