Full Job Description
Role Overview:

As a key team member, you will provide treatment planning support for patients undergoing external beam radiotherapy, working closely with radiation oncologists, physicists, and therapists. This position will be part of the MSK Basking Ridge (Basking Ridge, New Jersey) team, and the primary role will be a focus on Head and Neck, Spine SBRT, Mets SBRT, Brain and Brain SRS/SBRT external beam treatment planning for all MSK campuses.

Key Qualifications:
  • Certification by the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB).
  • A strong understanding of physics principles, radiation therapy, and treatment planning processes.
  • Proficiency in performing mathematical calculations and the ability to resolve radiotherapy-related issues.
  • Knowledge of radiation dosimetry calibration and radiation physics.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.


Core Skills:
  • Expertise in treatment planning, dose calculation, and radiation therapy simulation.
  • Ability to obtain, interpret, and apply patient-specific information to develop accurate treatment plans.
  • Experience with Head and Neck, Spine/Mets SBRT, Brain and Brain SRS/SBRT treatment planning, including image registration, is expected. Experience with previous treatment evaluation preferred.
  • Consult and collaborate effectively with radiation oncologists, therapists, and medical physicists.
  • Participate in quality assurance procedures, reviewing dose calculations, documentation, and patient records.
  • Educate and mentor junior staff, fellows, and others on treatment planning systems and departmental policies.
  • Present at departmental meetings, in-service training sessions, and professional workshops.
  • Stay current with new procedures, techniques, and technologies in the field of medical dosimetry.
  • Treat all patients and colleagues with the utmost respect, ensuring their unique needs are met.


Additional Information:
  • Work hours: Flexible hours between 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
  • Location: One or several of the MSK campuses depending on clinical needs in a hybrid work mode with an estimated 10 onsite days per year based on clinical needs.
  • Opportunities for professional growth through workshops, conferences, and hands-on testing of new technologies.
  • Report to Lead Dosimetrist or Chief Physicist, depending on work location.
  • Pay Range - $124,000 - $227,000 depending on experience level.
