Position OverviewIDOC is looking to hire a Corrections Industry Supervisor to serve as a working supervisor and instruct individuals in custody in the proper use of tools, equipment and materials utilized in the Garment Shop. In addition, this position inspects and reviews all finished products for quality assurance, coordinates the production of all orders, and monitors and checks individual in custody payroll. Essential Functions- Serves as working supervisor.
- Instructs individuals in custody in the proper use of tools, equipment and materials utilized in the Garment Shop.
- Inspects and reviews all finished products for quality assurance before storing and shipping.
- Coordinates the production of all orders.
- Monitors and checks individual in custody payroll.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications- Requires thorough knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years high school or completion of an approved training course.
- Requires two (2) years supervisory experience in the garment industry.
Preferred Qualifications- Prefers at least three (3) years of supervisory experience.
- Prefers at least one (1) year of experience in the garment manufacturing industry.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of experience in organizational logistics.
- Prefers at least one (1) year of experience working with purchase contracts and/or service level agreements with vendors.
- Prefers at least one (1) year of experience in inventory management.
- Prefers at least one (1) year of experience in supervising production.
Conditions of Employment- Requires completion of an approved course in guard training within six (6) months of employment.
- Requires the physical ability to perform assigned duties.
- Requires the ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
- Requires the ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs, regardless of the position held, is prohibited.
- Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
