Job Title: Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board (DNFSB) Support Services

Location: Work shall be conducted at the Hanford Field Office (HFO) and the Hanford Site in Richland, WA.

Employment Status: Full-time, salary exempt

Security Requirements: Must obtain and maintain Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance; U.S. citizen

Compensation Range: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00; based on geographical location, years of relevant professional experience and qualifications and educational background.

AttainX is seeking a professional candidate for DNFSB support services to support DOE HFO.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in engineering, science or business management
  • 9 years of directly applicable experience in applying relevant theories, principles and practices to tasks, problems and issues
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Skilled in problem identification and resolution
  • Demonstrated familiarity or relevant experience or ability to perform under Hanford or other government agency procedures


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working level knowledge of DNFSB policies and work practices
  • Working level knowledge of Hanford Site mission, activities and priorities
  • Working level knowledge of DOE Hanford processes and procedures
  • Working level knowledge of DOE's program management practices, policies and procedures
  • Familiarity with or ability to learn/use other technology management tools employed at Hanford
  • Excellent communication responsiveness and customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft (MS) 365
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word and Excel


Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating complete and timely responses to inquiries.
  • Facilitating interactions between DOE Hanford, Environmental Management (EM) and other DOE elements concerning DNFSB activities and assuring that the tracking and reporting on these interactions are timely and accurate.
  • Alerting or advising Nuclear Safety Division (NSD) on significant issues directly or indirectly related to DOE Hanford.
  • Assuring that the schedule for entrance, exit and other meetings are developed.
  • Preparing weekly, monthly and quarterly status reports on DNFSB interactions for DOE Hanford.
  • Attending all DNFSB-related meetings and training for liaisons.
  • Assisting with other audits, assessments and reviews in which DOE Hanford is involved.
  • Using initiative and resourcefulness in extending or redefining available guidelines and procedures to ensure DNFSB liaison success.
  • Developing, directing and administering plans and procedures for the DNFSB interface program to meet the interests and needs of DOE Hanford.
  • Supporting NSD as the HFO point-of-contact (POC) with the DNFSB site representatives and visiting DNFSB staff.
  • Supporting management in responding to and implementing DNFSB recommendations and other commitments.
  • Coordinating audit and assessment document reviews and concurrences, meetings and site visits and information requests.
  • Identifying commitments made and actions taken during briefings and site visits and working with the DNFSB liaison on commitments and actions to ensure satisfactory completion.
  • Supporting DNFSB site visits by preparing agendas, coordinating meetings, preparing correspondence, tracking action items to completion, organizing orientation briefings and tours, maintaining records and providing for the necessary site- specific training, transportation, badging and dosimetry.
  • Developing and maintaining metrics measuring HFO performance in meeting DNFSB requests and resources required to fulfil these requests.
  • Reviewing contractor presentations and advising NSD as to their adequacy in addressing stated issues.
  • Reviewing or coordinating the review (appropriateness and scope) of documents and publications sent to the DNFSB.
  • Utilizing excellent writing and communication skills in all interactions.
