Location: Midland / Odessa TX – Permian Basin

Type: Full time

General Information/Job Summary

Manage the Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Quality Control Program for a Division or Project, reporting directly to the Director QA/QC.

This position is based in Corporate Headquarters, Odessa, TX and does not include a per diem. This position offers relocation, and a company vehicle.  Requires traveling to project sites.

Responsibilities/Competencies

  • Manage the E&I Quality Assurance and Quality Control program for all Divisions.
  • Selects, coordinates assignment of and manages all E&I Quality Personnel who perform audit, inspection, surveillance, and/or testing activities for projects executed within the division.
  • Effectively interprets contract quality requirements to establish inspection, testing and quality service activities for projects.
  • Interfaces with corporate advisors for technical support in electrical, instrumentation, documentation and other quality related practices and applications and keeps the corporate advisors informed of issues, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Prepares and distributes Weekly reports to divisional and corporate management and to report on quality related challenges and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provides training to the division and project personnel regarding the implementation of the quality control program and maintenance of quality related documentation, data, and records.
  • Assists Project and Construction Management and Project Quality teams to troubleshoot and assures follow through on resolve of reported quality issues.
  • Monitors, maintains, and reports E&I quality metrics to the corporate quality team.
  • Attends and participates in periodic corporate quality status and quality program improvement meetings.
  • Coordinates Third Party Testing agencies for performing any E&I related services to support projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements 

  • Extensive knowledge of construction quality control activities for oil and gas and maintenance projects.
  • Hold one or more Master Electrical Licenses (preferred)
  • Practicing knowledge of the National Electrical Code
  • 5 Years in E&I Quality Management
  • Knowledge of principles of NFPA70E in the workplace
  • Interpersonal skills at a high level
  • Initiative and creative problem-solving skills
  • High level of commitment to safety
  • Support goal of Quality, Safety and Productivity working together as a team
  • The ability to work as a team player within a dynamic and continuously changing work environment.
  • Physically mobile and reasonable level of fitness
  • Travel required for project support.
  • The satisfactory completion of a background screen

  Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting / standing at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to walk the property and laydown yards.
  • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds.
