Position Title: Division Associate Director

Position Location: Remote - work virtually from anywhere in the United States

JOB SUMMARY

The Division Associate Director provides strategic leadership for a Division within DLB's Design Department, overseeing multiple engineering disciplines, leadership teams, client programs, and operational initiatives supporting mission critical and data center projects. This role is responsible for establishing the Division's long-term vision, driving operational excellence, developing organizational strategy, and ensuring successful execution of business objectives.

Reporting to an Executive Director, the Division Associate Director is accountable for divisional performance, organizational growth, staffing strategy, client relationship management, and resource planning. This leader works collaboratively with Executive Directors, Directors, Associate Directors, and peer Division Directors to establish standards, develop policies, implement strategic initiatives, and strengthen collaboration across the Design Department.

The Division Associate Director serves as a senior organizational leader with broad decision-making authority, influencing departmental strategy, operational performance, talent development, and long-term business growth. Success in this role requires balancing strategic planning with operational execution while fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture that supports DLB's organizational goals and client commitments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Strategic Leadership and Organizational Direction (≤50%)

  • Execute divisional priorities and strategic initiatives established by the Division Director.
  • Oversee assigned client programs, ensuring successful delivery, operational consistency, and client satisfaction.
  • Monitor divisional performance metrics and provide reporting, recommendations, and operational insights.
  • Partner with leadership to develop operational plans supporting divisional objectives.
  • Support organizational growth through resource forecasting, staffing coordination, and workload planning.
  • Monitor operational risks and proactively recommend solutions.
  • Collaborate directly with department leadership to shape organizational strategy and structure.
  • Assist Division Director with change management initiatives and cultivate a high-performance culture.

Organizational Development and Continuous Improvement of Policies and Procedures (≥25%)

  • Assist the Division Director in executing organizational initiatives and divisional priorities.
  • Assist in developing and implementing operational policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Ensure efficient allocation and utilization of resources to meet divisional objectives.
  • Support hiring, staffing strategies, succession planning, and organizational growth.
  • Lead resource forecasting activities across assigned client programs.
  • Assist in planning, budgeting, staffing, and operational coordination within assigned functional areas.
  • Develop recommendations using operational metrics and reporting to improve divisional performance.

Client and Market Leadership (≥25%)

  • Serve as senior relationship owner for strategic and major clients.
  • Drive business development strategy and market positioning within the data center and MEP consulting sectors.
  • Anticipate client and market shifts, aligning service offerings and capabilities accordingly.

Technology and Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Champion technology strategy and digital transformation initiatives within the division.
  • Drive the adoption of data analytics for divisional planning and forecasting.
  • Ensure alignment of technology investments with divisional goals.

TRAVEL / RELOCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Up to 15%, this may include travel to any or all 50 US states
  • Travel is defined as physically leaving home on behalf of business activities including but not limited to client sites, meetings with other employees, meeting for business development purposes, running errands on behalf of the business, attending industry conferences, etc.


EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • B.A. / B.S. degree in engineering, construction or related discipline

OR

  • 2 years of additional experience in related field in lieu of degree

PLUS

  • Minimum of 10 years of industry related experience
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a leadership or management level position, with a demonstrated record of people leadership in previous roles

The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location.

The pay range for this role is:

160,000 - 230,000 USD per year (Remote (United States))
