Position Summary SUMMARYThe Division Quality Manager will provide leadership and management for the quality function and sustain the quality philosophy and lean culture for the division. The DQM will establish, maintain and optimize an effective quality management system. Create and implement a quality plan to achieve the levels of quality established through organizational goals, customer expectations, related stakeholders and market competition. Enhance and improve the division's products and services through the implementation of ISO 9001, problem-solving tools, prevention methods, quality-at-the-source and continual improvement techniques. Acts as Management Representative for Quality Systems.
This role reports directly to the Division General Manager, with a strong dotted line to the Group VP of Quality. As part of the senior level division staff, this role is a critical part of the leadership team responsible for leading a large, complex electronics business.
As the Division Quality Manager, this role leads a team of leaders in overseeing all quality functions including supplier quality, customer quality, internal production quality, inspection and audits. Collaborates across all division functions, suppliers, customers, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and quality excellence.
Responsibilities Essential Functions:As Division Quality Manager, you will direct quality control and assurance programs to ensure electronic assemblies and components meet strict industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements across complex, multi-site operations.
Key Responsibilities- Quality Management System (QMS): Develop, maintain, and improve QMS compliance according to standards like ISO 9001or specialized electronics guidelines.
- Process & Assembly Standards: Oversee inspection programs to verify adherence to electronics standards such as IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 for surface-mount technology (SMT) and through-hole manufacturing.
- Auditing & Compliance: Lead internal quality audits, third-party surveillance audits, and supplier evaluations or corrective action requests (SCAR/8D).
- Defect Reduction & Root Cause Analysis: Drive root cause investigations (using 8D or CAPA frameworks), reduce the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), and oversee Material Review Boards.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with engineering, supply chain, and production teams on design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 5 to 7 years of progressive quality leadership experience, with at least 3 years leading a quality department in a large, complex manufacturing business; electronics manufacturing background required.
- Must have multi-site leadership experience.
- Certifications: Preferred credentials include ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CMQ/OE), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma/Lean Black-Green Belt, or IPC-A-610 certification.
- Technical Skills: Deep familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), ERP software, and root-cause analytical toolsets.
