Summary/Job Scope:

To provide Sales management activities including assigned Sales staff with direction and support in the development and administration of budgets, forecasts, market analysis, pricing, competitive intelligence and promotion for the WI/IL/IN/W.MI market. In conjunction with Sr. Management, support other VCNA - US Great Lakes strategies and major project plans for further developing the market by conducting the following duties personally or through subordinate Sales Representatives or Technical Service Engineers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To act as a role model in the areas of leadership, customer focus, teamwork continuous improvement, safety and environment stewardship.
  • Develop and implement a sales & market strategy for the specified market with specific goals following market analysis of customer/potential customer needs and St. Mary's operational capacities and costs.
  • Manage the activities, training, and development of Field Sales Representatives in the market; aiding with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals/resolving problems.
  • Manage the activities of the region's district sales offices including monitoring and evaluating products, efforts/initiatives of competition (includes pricing & marketing trends, distribution, manufacturing, costs & SG & A).
  • Develop and control sales and marketing budgets and costs and prepare price recommendations for the market as required.
  • Responsible for regional promotional activities; develop/implement plans/efforts to actively promote the cement and concrete industries including new products and trade show/meeting representation sessions.
  • Assists Sales Executive(s) in directing sales forecasting activities including analyzing market information and related sales reports for the region.
  • Establishes/communicates and supports staff performance goals/objectives and conducts performance evaluations and initiates Employee Change Notice (ECN) recommendations (pay increases, etc.) as required.
  • Assigns sales territory /accounts &/ or other tasks to Sales Representatives within the market.
  • Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with Sales Representatives and Technical Engineers.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages Sales Representatives, and a Technical Service Engineer. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Four year college or university degree with four to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional degrees and/or registration in Sales & Marketing professional organizations would be an asset.
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge and proficiency with Excel spreadsheet software, MS Word processing, Power Point and customer management programs.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques.
  • Additional Skills: Ability to identify talent and develop, train and mentor direct reports to achieve current goals/objectives; position staff for near and longer term succession planning purposes is important.

Salary Range: $119,000-$140,000+Bonus
