What you will be doing:

• Provide leadership support to assist the Contract and Internal Coordination Supervisor with job coordination/planning, safety, crew critique, employee development, or other tasks as needed.
• Inspect and accept or reject contractor work for compliance to safety, design and construction standards and construction quality.
• Assure contracted construction projects flow smoothly.
• Resolve customer's concerns associated with work performed by contractors.
• Document construction events to protect AEP's interest from future claims.
• Assure contractor invoices are accurate, complete and reasonable.
• Provide feedback concerning contractor performance to Contract Administration for use in future contracting activities.
• Certify acceptability of contractor's work for invoice approval and payment.
• Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Help support IFR job inspections and document any design changes that are needed.

Distribution System Inspector Associate: SG 05: $63,496-$79,369

• Education requirements are listed below: High school diploma or GED.
• Work Experience requirement listed below: Thorough knowledge of distribution work processes, procedures and safety standards. Five years' of experience in related distribution field.
• Required License(s)/Certification(s) are listed below: Valid driver's license and acceptable driving safety record.
  

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Physical demand level is Sedentary. Typically, an entry level position, but based on experience/previous job classification there could be adjustments to the entry level.

Distribution System Inspector: SG 06

• Education requirements are listed below: High school diploma or GED.
• Work Experience requirement listed below: Thorough knowledge of distribution work processes, procedures and safety standards. Minimum two years experience as a Distribution System Inspector Assoc. or equivalent related experience.
• Required License(s)/Certification(s) are listed below: Valid driver's license and acceptable driving safety record.

• Physical demand level is Sedentary .Typically second step of progression in job family or can be entry level based on previous experience/job classification.

Distribution System Inspector Senior - SG 07

• Education requirements are listed below: High school diploma or GED plus a two year' technical degree or 5 yrs distribution construction experience preferred.
• Work Experience requirement listed below: Thorough knowledge of distribution work processes, procedures and safety standards. Minimum two years' experience as a Distribution System Inspector or equivalent related experience.
• Required License(s)/Certification(s) are listed below: Valid driver's license and acceptable driving safety record

• Top step of progression in job family, typically reserved for proven leaders who can multi-task and manage multiple duties and responsibilities.

Distribution System Inspector Principle - SG 08

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in distribution work processes, procedures and safety standards or equivalent related experience (to include previous supervisory experience), including good working knowledge of distribution operations activities. 
• Required License(s)/Certification(s) are listed below: Valid driver's license and acceptable driving safety record
