Full Job Description
In the role of Distribution Project Engineer, we'll count on you to:
• Work under the direction of Project Manager(s).
• Conduct analyses to develop design options, perform modeling and/or calculations, and prepare design sketches and concept drawings for medium voltage overhead and underground power systems.
• Work with Designers and CAD Technicians to develop construction drawings in accordance with national design standards, safety codes and project specifications and requirements.
• Assist with preparing cost estimates or specifications
• Participate in field reviews or construction observation
• Typical designs include electrical layout design, cable heating calculations, fuse coordination, overhead and underground design, and development of bill of materials. Designs must also consider construction requirements.
• Occasional short-term travel (typically 1-5 days) may be necessary. Longer term (several weeks) assignments may be required infrequently on project assignments.
• Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Distribution Project Engineers or Distribution Coordinators.
• Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
• Minimum of four years experience related to medium-voltage or distribution-level design.
• Experience using engineering software for medium voltage design or analysis such as CYMCAP, CYMEDIST, Milsoft Windmil, PLS-Pole, SKM, and/or other related tools
• Graduate Degree or Certificate in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems.
• Experience in the medium voltage design of large industrial facilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Previous experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software. (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit)
