Director of Warehouse Operations Management to lead and support the day-to-day operations for our newest distribution center located in Sacramento, California. This leader will have financial and operational responsibility for this start-up facility totaling 260,000 square feet and will provide leadership to 100-180 direct and indirect employees.
This Director is a vital role within the network, responsible for casting the vision, strategy, and tactical plans to achieve operational excellence. The Director will plan, direct, and coordinate the work activities (picking/packing, shipping, receiving, safety, maintenance, and quality) and resources necessary for the site. This leader will also drive the site's long-term success by creating and implementing production plans that align with the business unit strategy to support rapid growth.
This position currently reports directly to the Senior Director of Operations - West Coast. The role will require experience and demonstrated ability to manage in an automated distribution center. Exceptional leadership skills, strong interpersonal capabilities, and the ability to roll-up one's sleeves and get things done will be necessary to ensure that the individual is successful.

Responsibilities- Build a highly effective team with a winning culture and enhance organizational capabilities to develop strong talent pipelines.
- Develop succession plans and leadership pipelines to ensure long-term bench strength for site and network.
- Lead & manage overall site to meet or exceed company objectives for safety, quality, cost/budget, employees' well-being, delivery, and customer experience.
- Develop production plans and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of distribution operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards.
- Accountable for achievement of customer service KPIs including on-time departure, order accuracy measured as dpmo, inventory accuracy.
- Develop and execute the site's strategic roadmap, aligning facility capabilities, automation, labor planning, and continuous improvement initiatives with long-term business growth considerations.
- Ensure the facility meets US and local regulatory and legal requirements.
- Build and monitor production schedules to ensure they are aligned with customer demand and corporate inventory goals.
- Responsible for supporting the full range of Human Resource programs including Recruitment, Training and Development, and Compensation and Benefit administration. Additionally, handling employee issues appropriately based on good management and legal requirements, proper work procedures, and duty assignments, while considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
- Responsible for Employee Safety and Safety Compliance.
- Own site financial performance, including labor management, capital expenditures, productivity initiatives, and cost improvement programs while achieving service and quality objectives
- Capital Projects planning and implementation (equipment and facilities). Maintain existing site facilities and equipment, replacing or adjusting site facilities and equipment when necessary.
- Proactively work with all support functions (sales, inventory, finance, human resources, IT, transportation, sourcing, security and others) to ensure excellent external customer service and quality, as well as high associate engagement.
- Serve as project leader for new building initiatives, implementations, consolidations, etc.
- Responsible for developing the skill sets (technical and leadership) of the team through coaching, training, effective/efficient performance, and behavior feedback, all the while role modeling top notch leadership.
- Understands the key performance metrics (KPIs) and monitors all operational process to ensure the operations meets/exceeds on all organizational goals.
- Participates in Sales meetings/updates with external customers (current/potential) to ensure sustainable and scalable solutions.
- Lead the Lean Six Sigma efforts (continuously act as the Lean champion).
- Act as a "tour-ready" facility for all expected visitors (internal and external).
- Drive employee engagement through execution of the voice of the employee (VOE) action plans.
- Actively manage multiple competing priorities through delegation to the leadership staff.
Qualifications- Targeting individuals with proven leadership experience and 7-10+ years working in a similar automated distribution center environment.
- Experience with technology and automation implementations is a plus.
- Previous medical distribution experience and/or e-commerce a plus.
- Lean Six Sigma (certified or experience), preferred not required.
- Working knowledge of a Warehouse Management System, highly preferred.
