Full Job Description
Location: MetroHealth Old Brooklyn Campus

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 8a - 5p

Summary:


Responsible for the strategy, planning, architecture, engineering, implementation, maintenance, and support of company-wide technology infrastructure systems including the health system network, data center and disaster recovery operations, and all unified communications platforms and strategy telecommunications. Serves as the thought leader and expert resource for infrastructure and technology in a complex academic medical center environment with multiple physical sites of service. Provides day to day major IS incident response on a rotating basis with other IS Directors. Leads, mentors, and develops highly skilled technical teams. Manages subordinate managers(s) who manage employee(s) and service vendors. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these teams. Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, OR any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below.

Five or more years related experience in system administration and leadership, preferably in a similar health system.

Five or more years of experience participating in and leading information system projects.

Five or more years of experience in the various technical domains of infrastructure.

Demonstrated strategic thinking and strategic leadership having taken issues from concept to implementation to optimization

Deep understanding of networks, business and clinical applications typical to a health care environment, and security standards,Advanced PC knowledge including proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio, and MS Project.

Excellent interpersonal and executive communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills in order to meet deadlines and respond to urgent issues and changing priorities.

Expertise in quality improvement processes such as ITIL foundations, ISO or Six Sigma.

Preferred:

Master's Degree in one of the foregoing disciplines.

Understanding of the business of healthcare including clinical operations, physician workflows, reimbursement etc.

ITIL certification.

PMP or comparable certification.

Physical Demands:May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating. May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing.Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.Ability to read job related documents.Dexterity to use computer.
