Job Description:

The Director of Technical Accounting will lead Radiology Partners' technical accounting function, ensuring accurate application of U.S. GAAP across complex and judgmental areas. This role will serve as a key advisor to the AVP, Financial Reporting & Accounting, CAO, CFO, and senior leadership on accounting implications of strategic initiatives, transactions, and emerging issues.

This leader will build and oversee a high-performing team of three and play a critical role in strengthening accounting policies and driving consistency across the organization, while partnering closely with the Financial Reporting team.

DIRECTOR, TECHNICAL ACCOUNTING - POSITION SUMMARY:
  • Lead accounting analysis and conclusions for complex transactions (M&A, partnerships/JVs, debt/equity, compensation arrangements, leases, medical malpractice)
  • Oversee preparation and review of accounting position papers and technical memos for audit and internal use
  • Partner with FP&A, Legal, Corporate Development, Financial Reporting and external parties on accounting considerations, diligence and implications of transactions
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors on technical accounting topics.
  • Provide technical accounting support to the Financial Reporting team on disclosures and complex accounting matters
  • Review and advise on technical conclusions reflected in financial statements
  • Ensure alignment between technical positions and external reporting.
  • Maintain and enhance company-wide accounting policies
  • Ensure consistent application of accounting across Clinical and Technology segments.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a team
  • Build a scalable technical accounting function aligned with a multi-billion-dollar organization
  • Drive a culture of "brilliant with the basics" while elevating technical rigor.


DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's preferred)
  • CPA required
  • 8-12+ years of experience in accounting
  • Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting financial reporting in a complex organization
  • Public company/SEC experience preferred
  • Multi-currency and international accounting experience preferred
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP including ( Business combinations, Consolidations and noncontrolling interests, Debt and equity transactions, Stock-based compensation, Lease accounting, Financial services - insurance, Medical malpractice accounting)
  • Proven ability to research, document, and clearly communicate complex accounting issues
  • Strong experience leading and developing teams with cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to influence across functions and communicate effectively with senior leadership and external auditors

COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this position is $160,000-$190,000. Final determinations may vary based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, geographic location etc. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
