About the Opportunity
The
Director, Talent Network leads the launch, strategy, and operations of the Samaritas Talent Network-an innovative workforce initiative designed to prepare participants for employment, connect them with employer partners, and support long-term career advancement.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in building from the ground up. You will operate at both the strategic and execution levels, driving partnerships, revenue, program performance, and long-term sustainability.
What You'll DoProgram Launch and Start-Up Leadership
- Develop and implement workflows for intake, referrals, employer engagement, and retention support
- Establish milestones, timelines, staffing needs, revenue goals, and performance metrics
- Build a scalable program infrastructure including assessment, job readiness, matching, and reporting systems
- Continuously refine the model in partnership with the Chief Growth Officer based on outcomes and data
Revenue, Contracts, and Business Development
- Build partnerships with employers, workforce systems, funders, and public-sector organizations
- Generate revenue through placements, contracts, fee-for-service models, and sponsorships across high-demand industries
- Collaborate with internal teams on pricing, agreements, grant proposals, and sustainability planning
- Track and report on revenue, contracts, placement outcomes, and employer satisfaction
Program Operations and Service Delivery
- Oversee daily operations and ensure high-quality, culturally responsive workforce services
- Supervise Talent Navigators, employer-facing staff, and support team members
- Ensure participants are job-ready through resume support, interview prep, and career pathway planning
- Connect participants to training programs and credentialing opportunities
- Coordinate with internal programs to build strong referral pathways
- Support participants in overcoming barriers such as transportation, childcare, housing, and behavioral health
Employer Engagement and Talent Pipeline Development
- Develop and manage relationships with employer partners
- Align talent pipelines with real labor market demand
- Support successful hiring, onboarding, and retention practices
- Organize hiring events, employer convenings, and workforce development initiatives
Data, Outcomes, and Performance Management
- Build and manage program dashboards and performance tracking systems
- Use data to improve operations and guide strategic decisions
- Ensure accurate data entry across all tracking platforms
- Provide regular updates to leadership, partners, and stakeholders
Internal Collaboration and External Representation
- Partner across Samaritas programs to align with broader growth and impact strategies
- Work with Marketing and Communications to promote the Talent Network
- Ensure compliance with program standards, funding requirements, and regulations
- Represent Samaritas in workforce development forums and community partnerships
What You BringEducation and Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred in business, workforce development, human services, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in workforce development, staffing, program leadership, or social enterprise
- Strong background in employer engagement, partnerships, or business development
- Knowledge of Michigan workforce systems, including WIOA and Michigan Works, is highly valued
- Experience supporting individuals with barriers to employment is preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of workforce barriers such as housing, transportation, childcare, and access to benefits
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to use data to drive decisions and tell a clear story of impact
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn workforce technology platforms
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within Michigan
