Director, Surgical Product/Brand Marketing - Upstream

As a Director, Surgical Product/Brand Marketing - Upstream you will develop and implement the global portfolio strategy for Alcon's Glaucoma Devices (e.g., Hydrus Microstent, Voyager DSLT) in collaboration and partnership with key stakeholders within the Global Surgical Franchise and other critical functions (e.g., NA Commercial, International Commercial, R&D, MTO, S&OP, Reg Affairs, Med Affairs, etc.).

This position will represent the Global Surgical Franchise on cross-functional teams responsible for the growth of our existing brands within Glaucoma Devices, as well as working in partnership with R&D, BD&L and other stakeholders to introduce innovative solutions consistent with our Glaucoma Device portfolio strategies. This role is located in Fort Worth, TX.

In this role, a typical day will include:
  • Lead the day-to-day global product/brand management of key products within the Glaucoma Device portfolio (e.g., HYDRUS Microstent, Voyager DSLT).
  • Develop and implement global marketing guidance documents, strategies and tactics for Glaucoma Devices, in partnership with North America and International Marketing teams.
  • Partner with North America and International Marketing/Commercial teams to support new launches and appropriate launch sequences.
  • Participate on Core Teams to successfully drive product development (with R&D and Clinical), indications/claims (Clinical, Regulatory, Medical Affairs), and marketing strategies (US, Canada, IMG) to drive Alcon Glaucoma Device adoption and competitive conversion.
  • Partner with Business Development & Licensing to evaluate external opportunities that increase the overall value of the Implantables portfolio.
  • Represent the Global Surgical Franchise in the development of recommendations to key governance bodies (e.g., GFB, IB, etc.) Intraocular Device (IOD) and Instrumentation steering committees, and any other additional business forums that provide updates/progress on commercial initiatives or portfolio strategy (e.g., ELT).
  • Participate in the development of business cases to prioritize internal/external investment decisions that increase the value of the overall Glaucoma Device portfolio.
  • Provide R&D with solid, evidence-based information and recommendations to ensure that new products, indications, and claims fill significant and profitable commercial needs. Directly responsible for generating with R&D the market requirement specifications for each new product (e.g., Target Product Profile, TPP).
  • Partner with R&D and other key stakeholders to properly manage Glaucoma Device projects through the Alcon Stage-Gate process.
  • Partner with North America and International commercial leadership, MTO and S&OP to ensure forecast accuracy, capacity planning, and executable launch cadence strategies for Alcon Glaucoma Devices to support business objectives and meet/exceed customer requirements.
  • Develop Commercial Launch Readiness (CLR) guidance for Glaucoma Device new product launches in collaboration with North America and International marketing teams that enable effective and impactful global product launches.
  • Establish global pricing guidelines, in collaboration with Global Pricing, to mitigate price erosion and elevate the value proposition of Alcon's Glaucoma Device portfolio.
  • Effectively manage the Global Glaucoma Device portfolio Project spend.

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +18 yrs; Assoc.+14 yrs; M.S.+7 yrs; PhD+6 yrs)
