Our Team, Your Impact

As the Director, Supplier Relationship Manager, you will serve as a strategic leader responsible for strengthening supplier partnerships, driving operational excellence, and ensuring alignment between external manufacturing partners and business objectives. In this highly cross-functional role, you will collaborate across Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T), Quality, and Operations to deliver sustainable business results.

How You'll Spend Your Day

  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams supporting day-to-day supplier and operational activities.
  • Establish and oversee supplier governance frameworks, performance metrics, and business review processes.
  • Drive resolution of supplier and business challenges by facilitating effective communication and conflict management.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to develop and execute long-term supplier strategies, including growth initiatives, portfolio optimization, continuous improvement programs, and supplier transition plans.
  • Identify potential business and supplier risks, developing proactive mitigation and contingency strategies.
  • Ensure alignment across stakeholders by communicating priorities, expectations, and performance outcomes effectively.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement while coaching and developing cross-functional team members.
  • Build strong executive-level relationships with external suppliers to enhance partnership effectiveness and long-term value creation.


Your Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience within the biopharmaceutical industry, including exposure to manufacturing operations, external manufacturing, or supply chain management.
  • 5+ years of experience managing supplier relationships and driving supplier performance improvements.
  • Working knowledge of industry best practices in Supply Chain, External Manufacturing, and Supplier Relationship Management.
  • Experience with bioprocessing, sterile manufacturing operations, or on-site pharmaceutical manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex projects and cross-functional initiatives from strategy through execution.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to balance operational, quality, financial, and strategic priorities.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and drive results in a matrixed organization.
  • Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills, with experience working across global and multicultural teams.
  • Strong change management capabilities and a track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to lead effectively without direct authority and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10-15%.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, conceptual, and quantitative skills.
  • Proven leadership capabilities and strong interpersonal skills, including effective
  • cross-functional collaboration, written and verbal communication, multicultural awareness,
  • high energy, and a strong bias for action.

  • Approximately 10-15% travel expected.

Salary Range

The annual starting salary for this position is between $177,040 - $221,300 annually. Factors which may affect starting salary within this range and level of role may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
