📍Location: One of Carrier’s key manufacturing hubs in Europe (Germany – Frankfurt/Allendorf, France – Lyon/Montluel, or Poland – Wrocław/Legnica), with flexibility across other major European locations.
About the Role:
As Director Supplier Quality & Development (SQ&D), you will lead and transform a best-in-class supplier quality function across Carrier Climate Solutions Europe.
You will be accountable for end-to-end supplier performance, driving measurable improvements in quality, delivery, and cost across the supply base. A key focus is reducing Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), ensuring reliable supplier delivery, and implementing transparent, data-driven performance management.
In this role, you will directly impact EBIT, customer satisfaction, and operational stability.
Operating at a regional level, you will lead supplier development programs, manage critical escalations, and establish strong governance and standardized processes across all regions. You will act as a key partner to Procurement, R&D, and Operations, ensuring supplier performance is embedded across sourcing, industrialization, and production.
You will also drive digitalization, strengthen organizational capabilities, and build a culture of continuous improvement across SQ&D.
The scope covers the full Carrier Climate Solutions Europe (CSE) supply base, with primary responsibility for Residential and expansion into Commercial.
Your profile:
- Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field
- 12+ years of experience in supplier or manufacturing quality
- 7+ years of leadership experience in global organizations
- Strong expertise in:
- Supplier audits and qualificationÂ
- Quality systems (ISO 9001, IATF preferred)Â
- APQP, PPAP, and industrialization processesÂ
- Structured problem-solving (8D, Six Sigma)Â
- Global supply chain quality managementÂ
- Proven leadership and team development capabilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder influencing skills (incl. executive level)
- Strong business acumen with the ability to link quality to financial performance
- Data-driven, structured, and analytical mindset
- Fluent English; additional European languages (e.g. French, German, Polish) are a plus
- Highly results-oriented with strong accountability mindset
- Ability to operate effectively in complex, global, matrix organizations
- Resilient and confident in escalation and high-pressure situations
- Collaborative yet decisive leadership style
- Strong governance focus and execution discipline
