The Director Security Safety supervises managers and supervisors, and manages the performance of individuals through ongoing coaching, feedback, and development to motivate, engage, and drive a high performing team. This position, also, supervises the daily operation of the Security Department, such as adherence to standards and working methods; and develops safety policies and procedures to ensure safety of hospital and compliance with safety laws and regulations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Oversee Security for 3 campuses Lafayette, Crawfordsville, and Rensselaer with regular onsite presence
  • Prepare and create safety and security reports and provide information to interdepartmental teams, committees, and meetings to assist in decision-making.
  • Oversee the reporting and investigation of criminal activities or incidents that involve property loss or damage and patient, personnel or visitor injury.
  • Assist in the routine and regular inspections of all Franciscan Alliance areas in order to ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor the safety management program of Franciscan Alliance to ensure programs meet all regulations and laws, and to ensure the safety of staff, patients and visitors.
  • Develop, implement, monitor and revise safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure the safety of Franciscan Alliance and compliance with safety laws and regulations.
  • Prepare, implement, and monitor department strategic plan, goals and performance targets, to create goals, which support the organization in achieving its strategic plan.
  • Supervise the daily operation of the Security Department such as adherence to standards and working methods to ensure smooth transition/communication of shifts and reporting of incidents.
  • Prepare and provide training to Franciscan Alliance on safety/security policies and procedures to ensure all staff know and understand safety/security standards.
  • Develop and manage one or multiple departmental budgets, including making budget allocations, approving expenditures and ensuring expenses are within budget.
  • Supervise managers or supervisors within one or multiple departments and manages the performance of individuals through ongoing coaching, feedback and development to motivate, engage and drive a high performing team.
  • Make decisions for direct reports in one or multiple departments and performs people management activities such as performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, staff planning, and interviews.
