Full Job Description
Oversee and administer company policies, processes and procedures to assure compliance with Federal, State, and local OSHA, MSHA, DOT, WVOMHST and EPA regulations. Oversee and administer company safety training programs, safety awareness programs and assist with Return to Work programs to reduce Worker Compensation costs and the Company's experience modification rating. Manages enterprise facilities and assists with branch facility needs. Administers and coordinates construction projects, Disaster Recovery Plan, EPA/Waste Management Programs, and other facility related projects. Manage company rolling equipment. Ensure company compliance to Federal DOT and State licensing regulations. Administer Fleet cost control plan and fleet safety initiatives. REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Management/Supervisor experience required
  2. Degree in Environmental Science/Earth Science or equivalent experience required
  3. RCRA certified
  4. Experience working with Federal, State, and Local OSHA, MSHA, DOT, WVOMHST, and EPA agencies/regulations
  5. Minimum of 5 years' experience in related field
  6. Demonstrated problem solving skills
  7. Willingness to learn, be trained, and coach
  8. Excellent interpersonal skills, and written and verbal communication skills
  9. Able to communicate with team members and customers
  10. Good working knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, word processing programs
  11. Highly self-directed
  12. Ability to work independently or in a team environment with rapidly changing priorities and demands
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Able to climb on, operate, and inspect facilities and equipment
  2. Direct and coordinate the planning, analysis, and coordination of the activities of Facilities related projects to meet the objectives of the department and the Company
  3. Travel to branches or other locations as required to perform assigned duties - Maintain a valid motor vehicle operators' license
  4. Maintain a high degree of discretion in handling confidential/sensitive information and exercise initiative in all assigned areas, high integrity and accountability standards
  5. Assist work team to meet the objectives of the department and the Company
  6. Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English
  7. Ability to operate a P.C. (Windows, Excel, Word, etc) Establish the course of action necessary for the Company to attain Corporate Objectives and remain within the parameters of Federal, State, and Local OSHA, MSHA, DOT, WVOMHST, and EPA regulations
  8. Administer Company Safety Training programs, , safety awareness programs, and assist with Return to Work programs to reduce Worker Compensation costs and improve the Company's Experience Modification rating
  9. Evaluate Company processes and procedures on an ongoing basis to verify compliance with Federal, State, and Local OSHA, MSHA, DOT, WVOMHST, and EPA regulations
  10. Represent the Company in written, telephone, and personal interactions with Federal, State, and Local agencies, customers, and vendors
  11. Initiate cost saving alternatives to traditional maintenance and building practices
  12. Anticipate potential regulatory compliance issues and develop viable contingency plans which are within the parameters of Federal, State, and Local OSHA, MSHA, DOT, WVOMHST, and EPA regulations
  13. Oversee established methods in place for collecting data needed to develop records and reports necessary for obtaining permits required by Federal, State, and Local OSHA, MSHA, DOT, WVOMHST, and EPA agencies
  14. Develop and implement training programs required by Federal, State, and Local OSHA, MSHA, DOT, WVOMHST, and EPA regulations
  15. Evaluate new and updated government regulations, determine impact on Company policies and procedures and update or create new methods of compliance where needed
  16. Reduce Workers Compensation claims/costs by analyzing incident causes, demanding accountability from the employees and management, and implementing a multi-faceted incident reduction program
  17. Direct and coordinate all Support and Branch construction, modification and repair activities to ensure they are performed professionally and within budget
  18. Direct and coordinate all Support Center/Support locations maintenance, building & ground, and janitorial functions to ensure a professional, clean, and well operating facility
  19. Travel to all branch locations to conduct annual inspections to ensure adherence to Branch Operations standards; work with Marketing, Human Resources, and Safety departments on facility brand standards, compliance and engagement needs from a facility standpoint, and physical Safety requirements
  20. Ensure signage meets brand standards, drives customer and employee engagement, allows for safe movement of people and vehicles on properties
  21. Develop and maintain a long-term enterprise wide facility strategy, maintenance/remodel schedule/priority list, and monthly/annual maintenance routines
  22. Administer the Physical Security Programs to protect physical assets
  23. Assist Branches in budgeting for replacement of vehicles and equipment
  24. Monitor vehicle and equipment budgets for excessive costs and evaluate and make recommendations for adjustments
  25. Manage third party services to control costs and meet regulatory compliance
  26. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to all levels of company management, the Company customers, employees, and outside vendors
  27. Hire, train, and supervise staff
  28. Work with staff to set aggressive professional and achievable goals to enhance the employees performance
  29. Use coaching techniques to recognize employees accomplishments and strengths and to improve any other areas
  30. Evaluate employee performance on a regular basis and prepare the related Position Descriptions, Performance Appraisals, and salary administration documents
  31. Ensure all staff follows corporate and departmental standards and practices. Take disciplinary action when required
  32. Recommend to manager ideas to improve the departments operating procedures or business practices and participate in and support continuous improvement of all related activities and processes
  33. Project a positive image by interacting with fellow employees, customers, and management in a cooperative, supportive, and courteous manner; display a professional attitude; comply with company dress code
  34. Create and maintain good communications (verbally and in writing) and relationships with other Company departments, branches, employees, outside vendors, and customers by addressing and resolving concerns quickly
  35. Follow all work, safety rules, and proceduresPerform other duties as necessary and assigned
