The Opportunity
We're looking for a Director of Business Development to drive the growth of Robertson RPO across North America and help shape the strategy behind it. This is a hunter-and-builder role: you'll prospect and win enterprise relationships, present our RPO and wider offering with credibility, and partner with clients and internal experts to design solutions that fit. You won't do it alone - an established delivery infrastructure, senior advisory, and best-in-class technology and prospecting tools are already in place. We've invested heavily over the past two and a half years to build a strong foundation, and we're committed to growing this division; now we need the right leader to take it forward, with strategic input and visibility straight to senior leadership. Based in the United States or Canada. For a BD leader who'd rather build than maintain, there are few opportunities like this.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain target lists of prospective clients from cold and warm leads.
- Prospect and qualify leads through proactive outbound calling and outreach.
- Present Robertson's RPO solution and wider offering to prospective clients.
- Partner with clients, other lines of business, and internal subject-matter experts to develop tailored RPO solutions.
- Build strong, multi-threaded relationships across client organizations.
- Deliver on KPIs centered on clients introduced, meetings, books built, and contracts signed.
- Participate in account stand-ups and represent Robertson at trade shows and conferences.
- Manage the end-to-end sales pipeline across competing priorities, stakeholders, and complex bid processes.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years in business development in consulting or professional services, ideally within an RPO organization.
- 5+ years in banking or financial services, with the ability to grasp complex environments and solutions.
- University degree.
- Proven ability to build advisory relationships with senior HR and business leaders, with the presence and articulacy to engage at a senior level.
- Excellent prospecting and presentation skills.
- Collaborative and innovative, with a track record of building strong relationships internally and externally.
Why Join Robertson
- A specialist firm with an excellent delivery reputation in regulated, complex environments - clients come to us for what we do best.
- Advanced, early-to-market use of technology and AI, applied exceptionally well.
- Heavy, sustained investment in this division and a clear commitment to its growth.
- A strong training and development program and a career-challenging environment where people grow and work across a range of talented professionals.
