WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Director, Retail Performance will own and lead key programs that drive sales performance, dealer engagement, and profitability across Hyundai's retail network. This role requires a strategic leader with a blend of retail field and corporate HQ experience - someone who has managed these programs firsthand and can speak to them with authority.

  • Lead the Performance Engagement Program end-to-end - methodology, monthly objective setting, performance tracking, and budget management.
  • Drive CUV volume targets through incentive strategy, marketing, and dealer engagement. Develop strategies to increase off-lease vehicle flow to dealers and manage the CUV customer lifecycle with HMA/HMF CRM teams.
  • Partner with Product Planning, Product Development, and Pricing to optimize residual values across all models and align trim/spec strategies with market conditions.
  • Build and implement a national/regional incentive planning tool to optimize budget allocation, calibrate regional incentives to inventory, and improve program efficiency.
  • Align closely with VP of PLM and Director of Retail Operations on strategic priorities.


HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Build data-driven, executable strategies to improve HMA profitability.
  • Lead and advocate the PEP program to increase dealer engagement and performance.
  • Develop upstream remarketing strategy; drive implementation to improve repurchase rates and resale value using HCP and related tools.
  • Conduct residual value analysis; align trim/spec strategies with PLM, Product Planning, PDO, and Pricing to meet market demand and protect long-term value.
  • Analyze trends across PEP, CUV, and RVs; identify optimization opportunities and recommend enhancements.
  • Partner with Retail Operations to ensure incentive programs are clearly communicated, understood, and adopted.
  • Monitor initiatives; deliver regular performance insights and reports to senior leadership.
  • Manage incentive program budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and strong ROI.
  • Create training materials to support retail teams on program rules, eligibility, and expectations.
  • Stay current on industry trends in incentives, compensation, and rewards.
  • Evaluate and improve technologies supporting incentives and retail operations.
  • Ensure full compliance with legal, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • Lead, coach, and develop staff; optimize use of team resources and capabilities.
  • Recommend and assess proposals to enhance HMA sales performance.
  • Manage direct reports and vendors; define scope, monitor delivery, and drive results.
  • Approve payments in line with HR guidelines and company signature authority.


WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Must be a high school graduate.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Master's degree a plus.
  • Fifteen or more years of relevant experience of which at least eight years of directly related experience in Automotive Industry.
  • Seven or more years of supervisory experience is desired.
  • Has successfully developed and executed a long-term strategy that has led to accelerated revenue growth in an industrial business through hands-on experience in automotive industry pricing and incentives, strategic planning, business planning.
  • This executive will be able to move a project forward by being nimble, inclusive and effective in managing through ambiguity. Experience with Asian automakers a definite plus.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills that bring best-in-class tools and processes to the organization. Gathers and accurately assesses comprehensive market and competitive data regarding trends, tactics customer interests that can be translated into actionable strategies and business development plans which are integrally linked to internal plans.
  • Outstanding communicator both in writing and verbally. Delivers concise, incisive, logical written documents and who also has the presence to deliver recommendations effectively to demanding audiences.
  • Exceptional team builder and motivator leads by example and demonstrates a total commitment to achieve company objectives, strategies, and performance targets.


WHAT HYUNDAI CAN OFFER YOU

  • Compensation Range: $178,200.00 - $264,000.00 annual base salary
  • Monthly Hyundai/Genesis vehicle lease allowance (including insurance and maintenance)
  • Holiday Pay - the company shuts down with pay between Christmas and New Years.
