Job Summary:

As the Director, Oak Ridge Regulatory Affairs, you'll serve as a key member of the American Centrifuge Operating (ACO) senior leadership team, helping ensure the safe, compliant, and successful execution of one of the nation's most important advanced nuclear programs.

This role combines strategic leadership with independent oversight, providing the authority and accountability needed to uphold the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance across the Oak Ridge operation. Working closely with executive leadership, DOE, TDEC and NRC stakeholders, and teams across the enterprise, you'll help drive operational excellence while supporting the future of domestic nuclear fuel production.

What You Will Do:

Lead the Regulatory Affairs functions for the Oak Ridge site by providing independent programmatic oversight for nuclear licensing, nuclear material accountability, radiation protection, industrial hygiene, environmental and waste, industrial safety and corrective actions. Advise the Sr. Vice President of Enrichment Operations on key safety and compliance areas while ensuring that regulatory requirements are applied to plant design, manufacturing, construction, operations, maintenance, research and development, and project execution. You'll ensure compliance with DOE, NRC, and applicable federal, state, and local requirements; develop and implement regulation based training programs; guide continuous improvement initiatives; represent Centrus with internal and external stakeholders; and build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams that support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, or equivalent technical experience
  • 10+ years of nuclear industry experience
  • 6+ years of leadership or management experience, which may be concurrent with nuclear experience
  • Ability to work effectively within a highly regulated DOE and NRC environment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel periodically to other Centrus locations, contractor sites, and occasional international destinations
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a "Q" clearance

A Successful Candidate Brings:
  • Experience providing independent regulatory oversight for complex industrial, manufacturing, construction, or nuclear operations
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance programs such as; radiological safety programs; environmental and waste programs; root cause and corrective action programs, environmental and waste programs; industrial hygiene programs, industrial safety programs, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience interacting with regulatory agencies and senior stakeholders
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and foster a culture of safety, quality, and accountability
  • An active or previously held Q-level security clearance
