Overview

UnityPoint health is seeking a Regional Supply Chain Leader to join our team. This role provides direct oversight of the inventory functions (receiving, stockroom, par locations, logistics) for their assigned Region and ensures there is a strong linkage between the needs of their local patients and clinicians and the system-wide supply chain. The Regional Supply Chain Leader will actively participate in the system-wide Clinical Value Analysis processes to ensure their Region's needs are met. Additionally, this leader will work collaboratively with the Hospital Executive team, the Executive Director of Contracting Services, Director of Value Analysis-Central Procurement, and the Director Enterprise Resource Planning-Supply Chain, to ensure an efficient end-to-end supply management function in their assigned Region.

Location: Des Moines Methodist Hospital

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Responsibilities

Supply Chain Operations:
  • Responsible for the day-to-day leadership of inventory functions for their assigned Region. This includes receiving, stockroom, par locations and logistics. Depending upon the Region, it could also include the copy center, mailroom and other related departments.
  • Ensures best practices are implemented for inventory functions within their assigned Region to include staffing levels, stockroom practices, par locations, and support to procedural areas such as Surgery and Cardiology. Works collaboratively with the Executive Director, Supply Chain Operations as well as the other Regional Supply Chain Leaders to share and implement best practices.
  • Provides high quality customer service to departments in their assigned Region. Open to feedback to improve customer service model.
  • Emphasis on process improvement opportunities in all areas of responsibilities with a focus on continually identifying and moving to leading practices and eliminating inefficiency and waste.
  • Support of system sustainability initiatives and leadership of projects in this area as needed.


Value Analysis - Regional Standardization
  • Actively participate in Clinical Value Analysis processes. The Regional Supply Chain leader will act to bridge the gap between the local patient and clinician needs and the System Services supply chain. Works collaboratively with the Director of Value Analysis-Central Procurement to provide feedback for a highly efficient and effective process.


Contracting - Procurement Standardization
  • Works collaboratively with the Executive Director of Contracting Services and Director of Value Analysis-Central Procurement to ensure system-wide supply management initiatives are properly communicated and executed in their assigned Region.


Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Care Administration, or related field.
  • Experience in excess of 10 years in supply management field may be substituted for education.

Experience:
  • 6 years of supply management/logistics experience required
  • Supply Chain experience in health care preferred

Licenses/Certifications:
  • Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons
  • Certified Resource & Materials Professional (CMRP-AHRRM) preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong realtionship building skills - both with the team and clients
  • Requires knowledge of federal healthcare laws and regulations
  • Requires highly developed communication skills to effectively work with all levels of management throughout the UnityPoint Health, its subsidiaries and affiliates
  • Ability to understand and apply guidelines, policies and procedures
