Full Job Description
WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Director of Purchasing is responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and optimizing purchasing processes for Rio Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. This includes implementing procurement best practices, inventory control, import logistics, strong negotiation skills, and successfully managing purchasing and storage operations of a warehouse.

ROLE EXPECTATIONS

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Manage 3rd party vendors with Rio's contracts, terms and deadlines for all furniture, fixtures and electric (FF&E) and operating supplies and equipment (OS&E).
  • Review SOW and prepare project purchasing schedule according to lead times and deadlines.
  • Completes project purchase orders and ensures timely delivery of quality materials.
  • Review and submit procurement vendor invoices to AP and track progress.
  • Coordinate logistics for all deliveries to the property and support internal department deliveries (F&B outlets, retail, warehouse and on property storage).
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure entire range of quality levels, production requirements and contractual obligations are met.
  • Responsible for the efficient and safe operation of warehouse facilities.
  • Promote the importance of Safety and Health, ensuring compliance, and striving towards an incident free workplace.
  • Responsible for material expediting, identifying any potential late product and mitigating risk of not having materials at the time of project start.
  • Manage damage & loss claims and the freight claim database.
  • Conduct project closeouts including accounting, providing maintenance and warranty information to the property.
  • Perform other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • This position directly oversees the Warehouse staff and Buyers.


REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum eight (8) years experience of supply chain logistics processes, including transportation and logistics planning, inventory control, inventory management, and demand planning.
  • Minimum three (3) years of progressive leadership experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, solution-driven, and analytical thinker.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Able to set and successfully drive strategies for both customer loyalty and employee culture programs.
  • Strong Computer proficiency; ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and applicable financial and operational software.
  • Bachelor's Degree (required).
  • At least 21 years of age.


PREFERRED
  • Proficient in using financial planning systems such as Oracle or similar software, Workday and Virtual Roster.
  • Five (5) years experience of leading large teams.
  • Experience working in a similar warehouse and/or resort setting.


CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines.
  • Must regularly lift and/move up to 40 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.


WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as but not limited to noise, dust and smoke.
