Director, Project Management Office, BU Services

Position Summary

The Director, Project Management Office is a key leadership role within Nextpower's Services Business Unit, responsible for building and leading the project management capabilities that help the organization execute change effectively and manage business performance with discipline.

The role will build and lead two core functions:
  • Change Management - build and lead Program Management and Continuous Improvement capabilities that help Customer Operations execute strategic initiatives, improve how we work, and scale effectively
  • Performance Management - build the planning, governance, reporting, analytics, and Voice of the Customer capabilities that help Services leadership and Product Management understand performance, make better decisions, and improve results


The Director will build and lead a Business Operations team while partnering across Product Management, Customer Operations, Finance, Sales, and other functions to help translate strategy into execution and create greater visibility and accountability across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Performance Management
  • Build and lead the Performance Management capability, establishing the management systems required to connect strategy, execution, and business results
  • Partner with Services leadership, Product Management, and Finance to establish strategic planning processes that translate business priorities into clear objectives, roadmaps, investments, and measures of success
  • Establish the Business Unit's performance management framework, including OKRs, KPIs, executive scorecards, governance forums, and monthly and quarterly business reviews.
  • Build scalable reporting and analytics capabilities that provide leaders and Product Management with timely, trusted insights into financial, operational, service, and customer performance
  • Partner with the Customer Success organization to establish a systematic Voice of the Customer capability that captures customer feedback and translates insights into actions to improve customer experience and inform future offerings
  • Build and develop a high-performing Performance Management team with the capabilities required to support the continued growth and maturity of the Services business


Change Management
  • Build and lead the Program Management capability, establishing the people, processes, governance, and tools required to successfully execute the Business Unit's highest-priority cross-functional initiatives
  • Establish a consistent approach for managing strategic programs, including prioritization, ownership, milestones, dependencies, risks, executive visibility, and accountability for outcomes.
  • Build and lead the Continuous Improvement capability, establishing a systematic approach to identify, prioritize, and execute opportunities to improve Customer Operations
  • Partner with Customer Operations leaders to develop a pipeline of improvement opportunities focused on customer experience, efficiency, cost-to-serve, scalability, and automation
  • Build and develop a high-performing Change Management team capable of leading complex programs and operational improvement initiatives across the organization


Leadership & Collaboration
  • Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing Business Operations organization across Change Management and Performance Management
  • Define clear roles, operating models, standards, and ways of working as the Business Operations function scales
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to Services leadership and influence priorities and decisions across organizational boundaries
  • Foster a culture of accountability, customer focus, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision making


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Engineering, Finance, Operations, Analytics, or a related field
  • PMI certification
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in business operations, program management, operational excellence, analytics, or related functions, including experience leading teams
  • Demonstrated experience building or scaling organizational capabilities, teams, processes, or operating models
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional programs and business transformation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of performance management, strategic planning, business analytics, and continuous improvement
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex issues into clear priorities and actions
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills, including experience working with senior executives and cross-functional teams
