The Director of Program Delivery leads the successful execution of strategic programs and programs across the organization and assumes back-up responsibilities for the COO operating in the LTSS Program Manager capacity. You will provide oversight of project management responsibilities, delivery governance, resource planning, risk management, partner communication, and overall program performance.
The Director ensures that the Director aligns programs to organizational priorities, delivers them with disciplined execution, and designs them to achieve measurable operational, financial, customer, or business outcomes.
1. Program Delivery Leadership
- Develop successful oversight for successful execution and delivery of the IN LTSS Program.
- Align programs and projects in focus with business strategy, operational goals, and leadership priorities.
- Translate strategic goals into applicable roadmaps, milestones, and delivery plans.
- Monitor overall program health, including scope, timeline, budget, risks, dependencies, and benefits realization.
- Guide accountability across teams to ensure commitments are met.
2. Project Management Oversight
- Provide leadership and oversight to individuals managing projects and LTSS program deliverables.
- Establish project management standards, tools, templates, and reporting practices.
- Ensure projects have clear charters, business cases, timelines, owners, milestones, and success measures.
- Review project plans and status updates to identify risks, delays, resource constraints, or scope issues.
- Support prioritization and sequencing of projects across the portfolio.

3. Governance and Portfolio Management
- Maintain IN LTSS program governance structures, including steering committees, executive updates, and decision forums.
- Facilitate regular reviews to assess progress, remove barriers, and make timely decisions.
- Create visibility into portfolio performance through dashboards, scorecards, and executive reporting.
- Ensure priority programs follow appropriate approval, escalation, and change management processes.
- Help leadership evaluate tradeoffs related to priority, capacity, investment, and risk.
4. Partner and Executive Communication
- Serve as an important liaison between executive sponsors, business leaders, project teams, and operational partners.
- Communicate status, risks, decisions, and outcomes.
- Prepare executive-level presentations and updates.
- Set expectations with stakeholders regarding timelines, dependencies, impacts, and required decisions.
- Build relationships across departments to support agreement and adoption.
5. Risk, Issue, and Dependency Management
- Identify issues, and dependencies across projects.
- Ensure mitigation plans are developed .
- Escalate critical risks or decisions to senior leadership when needed.
- Resolve barriers that impact execution.
- Maintain a focus on delivery discipline and operational readiness.
6. Resource and Capacity Planning
- Partner with functional leaders to assess resource needs and capacity constraints.
- Support workforce planning related to program delivery needs.
- Engage the right teams and subject matter experts at the right time.
- Identify gaps in skills, staffing or tools that may affect delivery.
- Recommend adjustments to priorities or timelines based on available capacity.
7. Process Improvement and Operational Excellence
- Identify opportunities to improve program delivery methods, project management, and operational execution.
- Standardize repeatable processes for planning, tracking, reporting, and lessons learned.
- Promote continuous improvement, accountability, and disciplined execution.
- Support change management and adoption of new tools, or ways of working.
- Lead post-implementation reviews to capture outcomes, benefits, and improvement opportunities.
8. Team Leadership and Development
- Lead staff and delivery talent.
- Build a delivery culture focused on ownership, transparency, collaboration, and results.
- Provide performance feedback, mentoring, and professional development support.
- Set clear expectations for delivery teams and for results.
Required Qualifications- Master's degree in business administration or a related field
- 8 or more years of operational, technical and leadership experience especially in project management
- 5 or more years of experience in health care environment/managed care
- Experienced in planning, execution, change management, partner agreement and risk mitigation practices
- Financial and budget awareness
- Experienced in data-driven decision-making
- Develop executive dashboards demonstrating progress and success of projects and high-level deliverables
- Strong relationship building skills and expertise in influencing areas without direct authority
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on improving and consumer experiences
- Must reside in Indiana or be commutable to the Indianapolis office periodically as needed
Preferred Qualifications- Project Management Professional or Six Sigma certification a plus
- Strong analytical skills

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay RangeThe compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$150,000 - $206,300 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
