Job Description

PORTFOLIO DECISION INTELLIGENCE

Help define the future of how property insurers manage their portfolios.

THE OPPORTUNITYTurn Verisk intelligence into trusted, AI-enabled decisions and actions that change how carriers manage their portfolios.
About the role

This is an exciting time to join Verisk as we combine deep insurance expertise, best-in-class data and analytics, and rapidly evolving AI capabilities to transform how property insurers manage their businesses.
We are seeking a Director, Product Management to own our Portfolio Health strategy and help shape the future of a dedicated, newly formed team.

This leader will build the next generation of AI-enabled portfolio decision intelligence, moving quickly from customer discovery and product definition through delivery, commercialization, and adoption. You will work across insurance, product, data, analytics, and AI to help carriers understand where their portfolios are changing, why those changes matter, and where they should act. You will also coach developing product managers and help shape adjacent decision-intelligence capabilities as the portfolio grows.

Responsibilities

  • Own the strategy, roadmap, business case, and product lifecycle for Portfolio Health while building toward a broader Portfolio Decision Intelligence vision.
  • Lead customer and market discovery with carrier product leaders, underwriting executives, actuaries, and other decision-makers to identify consequential problems and validate demand.
  • Translate strategy into execution by defining requirements, prioritizing the backlog, and leading A/B testing.
  • Partner with engineering, data science, design, and insurance experts to deliver high-quality, AI-enabled software products.
  • Create experiences that detect meaningful portfolio change, explain why it matters, recommend responsible next actions, and help customers learn from outcomes.
  • Ensure recommendations are supported by reliable data, transparent evidence, appropriate governance, and human oversight.
  • Lead products from concept through launch and adoption, including positioning, packaging, pricing, sales enablement, and implementation support.
  • Establish success measures across customer value, adoption, revenue, retention, and product performance; use evidence to guide roadmap and investment decisions.
  • Own product-level financial planning, forecasting, and performance reporting.
  • Build alignment and drive decisions across business, technology, data, legal, compliance, sales, marketing, and operations.
  • Coach developing product managers and help establish strong product-management practices as the team grows.

Qualifications

  • Typically 8+ years of experience in product management, insurance product leadership, insurance technology, or a related field.
  • Meaningful experience in property and casualty insurance, underwriting, portfolio management, insurance data and analytics, or an adjacent risk-technology market.
  • Experience taking complex software or analytics products from discovery through launch, customer adoption, and measurable business results.
  • Strong customer orientation, including experience identifying unmet needs, conducting discovery, evaluating competitors, and translating insights into product choices.
  • Experience partnering with engineering and data-science teams in Agile or iterative delivery environments.
  • Commercial judgment across positioning, go-to-market strategy, pricing, packaging, forecasting, and revenue growth.
  • The ability to simplify complex insurance, data, and technology concepts into clear requirements, decisions, and executive narratives.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and the ability to challenge constructively, establish clarity, and move decisions forward without relying on formal authority.
  • Experience coaching product managers or other developing talent.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
Your AI mindset
  • You are energized by how AI can improve how insurers identify opportunities, allocate attention, evaluate risk, and act.
  • You understand that sustainable differentiation requires more than a model. It comes from combining AI with differentiated data, insurance expertise, workflow integration, governance, and customer trust.
  • You can work effectively with technical partners on AI-enabled products without needing to be the team's AI architect.
  • You balance urgency and experimentation with disciplined validation, responsible controls, and accountability for getting valuable products to market.
Especially valuable experience
  • Experience with Verisk products, data, customers, or operating environments.
  • Experience at an insurer, insurance-data provider, property-intelligence company, core-platform provider, catastrophe-modeling firm, or insurtech.
  • Experience commercializing analytics, decision-support, workflow, SaaS, or AI-enabled products for enterprise insurance customers.
  • Experience with portfolio analytics, underwriting strategy, profitable-growth identification, experimentation, or workflow orchestration.
