Director, Portfolio Technology & IntegrationSummary/objectiveThe Director of Portfolio Technology & Integrations is a leadership role responsible for driving all IT-related workstreams across acquired companies acquisition lifecycle and isolved's strategic investment portfolio, as well as managing all third-party integration transitions. This individual will serve as the primary technology integration leader, partnering closely with executive leadership, M&A deal teams, and external partners to ensure seamless, scalable, and secure technology outcomes for every transaction and integration initiative.
This role demands a rare combination of M&A integration acumen, hands-on technical leadership, and the ability to build and lead a high-performing team. The Director will manage 1 direct report and be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of integration programs, from pre-close due diligence through post-close stabilization.
Core Job DutiesM&A / Acquisition IT Integration- Lead all IT workstreams for acquisitions and strategic investments, from pre-close due diligence through post-close integration and stabilization.
- Partner with internal deal teams, finance, legal, and executive leadership to assess target company technology landscapes, risks, and integration readiness.
- Develop and own comprehensive IT integration playbooks, frameworks, and runbooks that can be repeatably applied across transactions of varying complexity.
- Define integration timelines, milestones, and success criteria; drive accountability across cross-functional technology teams.
- Identify and mitigate technology-related integration risks, including cybersecurity, data governance, compliance, and infrastructure gaps.
- Lead post-merger technology harmonization efforts, including systems consolidation, platform migrations, and employee technology onboarding.
- Provide regular executive-level reporting on integration status, risks, and outcomes.
Third-Party Integration Transitions- Lead end-to-end transition management for all third-party integrations, including vendor onboarding, contract transitions, and platform migrations resulting from acquisitions or strategic changes.
- Serve as the primary liaison between internal technology teams and external integration partners, ensuring clear communication, accountability, and delivery.
- Evaluate and rationalize third-party integration portfolios post-acquisition, identifying consolidation opportunities and redundancies.
- Establish and maintain integration architecture standards, API governance policies, and data exchange protocols.
- Manage integration transition risk, ensuring business continuity throughout all migration and cutover activities.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to accelerate integration timelines and resolve escalations effectively.
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing integration technology team, fostering a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
- Partner with IT, Product, Security, Legal, HR, and Finance teams to align integration activities with broader organizational priorities.
- Influence without authority across acquired company teams and internal stakeholders to drive alignment and adoption.
- Contribute to the development of long-term technology strategy in the context of portfolio growth and M&A activity.
Minimum QualificationsRequired- 8+ years of progressive IT leadership experience.
- Demonstrated success leading IT workstreams through complex acquisitions and technology integrations in a fast-paced environment.
- Expertise in third-party integration management, including API-based integrations, vendor transitions, and SaaS platform migrations.
- Experience managing and developing small, high-impact technology teams.
- Strong project and program management skills; ability to manage multiple concurrent integration workstreams.
- Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous, high-change environments with competing priorities.
Preferred- Experience in a technology company, HCM, SaaS, or private equity-backed portfolio environment.
- Familiarity with IT due diligence frameworks, integration management office (IMO) structures, and M&A deal processes.
