Full Job Description
The Director, PAG will be responsible for the development and execution of Shorr's automation go-to-market strategy and the solutions offerings across Shorr's existing customer base and target prospects. This position will drive strategy across packaging automation, supplier alignment, product selection and customer solutions with the goal of increasing revenue and margin growth for Shorr's national footprint.

This position will have P&L responsibility for the $50M Packaging Automation Group and lead three business units: Packaging Automation Sales team, Field Service Technician team and the Parts & Service team. This person will have responsibility for the full execution of the department to include sales, vendor-supplier performance, payment compliance, project management for installation, service technicians, repair and parts sales.

Responsibilities:

  • Profitably growth of revenue and margins and achieve packaging automation annual sales and EFO plan through automation solutions with new and existing customers.
  • Drive process improvements through the department to ensure an exceptional customer experience in all aspects of the process with emphasis on the support, administration and repeat business after the sale.
  • Create and enforce performance metrics for processes after the initial sale to include Accounts Receivable, technical support and service, parts sales and repeat business.
  • Align PAG team resources to support Shorr Account Executives in the sales process with technical expertise, product selection and pricing for equipment automation proposals.
  • Maintain and develop manufacturer relationships and programs to support field sales.
  • Evaluate and drive new technology applications that will prepare Shorr Packaging Corp. to present emerging automation programs within the vertical markets we serve.
  • In collaboration with Marketing, develop social awareness campaigns, vertical solution material, automation marketing tools, white papers, case studies and category expertise to drive awareness with both internal and external customers and prospects.
  • Drive Shorr's value proposition for equipment technical services through developing our technical staff through training and certifications.
  • Consult and collaborate with Supply Chain to leverage best in class suppliers with needs of current and prospective customers.
  • Partner with the vertical market leaders to provide the necessary automation solutions to support the consumable business related to the vertical markets; E-commerce, Food, Healthcare, 3-PL, and Industrial.
  • Provide direction and training to the Shorr Equipment Specialists. Work side by side with Shorr Sales Managers to review and develop the Equipment Specialist role.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree level education in related field
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience at the senior level of the business
  • Comprehensive understanding of the industry regulations, profitability levers and the key metrics that drive decision making and productivity within packaging automation sales, service and maintenance
  • Understanding of the packaging industry solutions and its competitors
  • Strong technology acumen and experience designing packaging and process improvement solutions for direct to consumer orders
  • Strong financial acumen with forecasting, profitability analysis (financials of a deal) and metrics
  • Strong executive presence and presentation skills with experience interacting and presenting at the most senior levels of companies and clients
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive to completion
  • Ability to persuade and influence with the organization and with suppliers to garner the needed support resources
  • Travel 30% +


Compensation

The base pay range for this role is $180,000 - $220,000 per year.
