Overview

The Director of Outpatient Services is responsible for supporting the achievement of the department's clinical, operational, and financial objectives while driving continuous improvement and long-term sustainability across outpatient programs. This leader partners closely with key management staff at Eyerly Ball and collaborates with stakeholders across the Behavioral Health Service Line to interpret and implement standards that ensure quality outcomes and a high level of client and employee satisfaction.

This position works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams throughout Eyerly Ball and fosters strong partnerships with community organizations and state agencies to support access to high-quality behavioral health services. The Director plays a key role in promoting growth, enhancing business processes, and advancing a culture of excellence, innovation, and compassionate care.

Responsibilities

Leadership:

Leads and allocates resources for multiple teams across Eyerly Ball's catchment area.
Motivate, facilitate, mentor and coach team to deliver high-quality, safe, patient-centered, cost-effective services.
Sets vision and strategy for the department.
Facilitates the ongoing learning, well-being, professional satisfaction, and development of staff through training, work assignments, increased responsibility, evaluation of performance and mentoring.
Create a culture of innovation, learning, teamwork, and professional practice, that is conducive to attracting and retaining talent and is consistent with our mission, vision, and values.
Accountable for setting program budgets and managing budget performance.
Responsible for budgeting in coordination with other directors as it relates to prospective payment rate.
Develops and oversees implementation of department policies.

Clinical Excellence:

Collaborates with organization leadership to strategically plan and implement CARF, CCBHC, and other accreditation requirements.
Collaborates with state entities and other providers across the state to positively represent Eyerly Ball and our services.

Partnership:

Collaborates with other leaders within the Service Line to develop consistent workflows across like services.
Develops and monitors referral relationships with partner organizations across multiple counties.
Problem solves systemic issues.

Innovation:

Actively pursues opportunities to develop and implement innovative strategies to provide high quality services within service area.
Supports teams in developing strategies and solutions to meet the complex needs of patients in the community, including timely access to services.
Works in partnership with the organizational leadership to identify gaps in care and ways to help the organization meet quality measures.

Qualifications

Education:
Master's degree required in Human Services, Behavioral Health, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Counseling, or a related healthcare field.

Experience:
Minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in a mental health setting required.
Minimum of three years of experience working in a Behavioral Health setting serving individuals with serious mental illness (SMI) required.
Demonstrated experience leading teams, managing operations, and driving quality outcomes in behavioral health services preferred.

Licensure/Certification:
Current licensure as an LISW, LMHC, or LMFT preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of managed care systems and reimbursement processes.
Strong leadership, supervisory, and team development skills.
Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and computer skills.
Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while maintaining a client-centered approach.
