Position Summary

The Director of Operational Performance is responsible for leading division-wide initiatives that improve operational efficiency, productivity, quality, service delivery, and financial performance. This role partners closely with operational leaders, clinical and business stakeholders, and executive leadership to identify performance opportunities, develop data-driven solutions, and implement sustainable process improvements.

The Director serves as a strategic leader focused on operational excellence through performance management, KPI development, workforce optimization, continuous improvement methodologies, and change management. This position ensures organizational objectives are translated into measurable outcomes that enhance quality, customer satisfaction, employee engagement, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and execute operational performance strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Partner with executive leadership to establish performance priorities and operational objectives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Lead enterprise-wide initiatives that improve efficiency, service delivery, quality, and financial performance.

Performance Management & Analytics
  • Design, implement, and maintain operational performance frameworks, dashboards, and scorecards.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and performance gaps.
  • Translate complex data into actionable recommendations for leadership teams.
  • Present performance insights and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.

Process Improvement & Change Management
  • Lead cross-functional projects focused on operational improvement and organizational effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce variation, eliminate waste, and improve productivity.
  • Standardize workflows and best practices across departments.
  • Drive successful adoption of new initiatives through effective change management strategies.

Collaboration & Leadership Development

Qualifications

Education

Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Finance, or a related field.

Preferred
  • Master's Degree (MBA, MHA, MPH, or related discipline).

Experience
  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations, operational excellence, performance improvement, healthcare administration, business operations, sales/business development, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success leading operational improvement initiatives and achieving measurable results.
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects and organizational change efforts.
  • Experience developing and managing performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting systems.
