Job Details

The Director of Operational Performance is responsible for developing and leading processes, people, and performance strategies to ensure efficient, scalable, and high-quality pharmacy operations across the organization. This role focuses on driving operational excellence through workflow optimization, performance management, cross-functional coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ability to support leadership teams as well as collaborate and influence other key leaders within operations is crucial. This role is especially critical given the complexity and interdependencies across pharmacy fulfillment, patient experience, compliance, and technology. Key performance indicators include productivity, turnaround time, accuracy, service levels, and overall patient and colleague experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operational performance strategy across pharmacy operations

  • Achieve performance expectations related to productivity, turnaround time, and quality

  • Identify and execute process improvement initiatives

  • Establish and monitor KPIs and reporting routines

  • Support and execute technology solutions to enhance automation and workflow efficiency

  • Partner cross-functionally to drive enterprise initiatives that drive the most ROI

  • Oversee staffing models and workforce planning

  • Lead root cause analysis and resolution of operational issues

  • Achieve budget targets and operational efficiency goals

  • Support transition to new pharmacy operating system

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations, healthcare or related field. PharmD preferred.

Experience

  • 7+ years of progressive experience and responsibility in frontend pharmacy processing in an environment that utilizes high volume automated transactional and fulfillment technology

  • Prior experience in a multi-unit leadership team leading groups of 100 colleagues or more including both pharmacists and technicians

Physical/Mental Demands: This position is administrative in nature and will present physical demands requisite to a position requiring: hearing, seeing, sitting, standing, talking, and walking. May be necessary to work extended hours as needed.

Schedule: This is a full-time position with an expectation to work an average of 40 hours per week and be available outside of normal business hours to meet customer expectations on an ad-hoc basis. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.

Travel: Travel may be required for special organizational or departmental events or client-facing meetings.

This is a remote position.
