Full Job Description
Operational Leadership

  • Lead daily and long-term warehouse operations across assigned sites, ensuring service, productivity, quality, and safety goals are met.
  • Provide leadership and direction to warehouse managers, supervisors, leads, and frontline teams.
  • Ensure operational standards are consistently followed across receiving, shipping, inventory control, order fulfillment, labor planning, equipment usage, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Monitor operational performance and proactively address service gaps, workflow challenges, and capacity constraints.
  • Support new customer launches, operational transitions, facility changes, and process implementations.


People Leadership & Development

  • Build, coach, and develop strong warehouse leadership teams.
  • Create a culture of accountability, teamwork, communication, safety, and employee ownership.
  • Partner with HR and Recruiting on workforce planning, staffing needs, retention strategies, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and reinforce company values throughout the operation.
  • Ensure leaders are trained and equipped to manage teams effectively and consistently.


Customer & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Serve as a key operational contact for internal stakeholders and customer partners.
  • Partner with Customer Service, Transportation, Inventory Control, Finance, Safety, HR, and IT to resolve issues and improve service delivery.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of customer expectations, service-level agreements, and operational requirements.
  • Support customer meetings, business reviews, and solution planning as needed.
  • Ensure warehouse operations are aligned with customer commitments and company profitability goals.


Financial & Performance Management

  • Manage warehouse performance against budget, labor plans, productivity goals, and operational KPIs.
  • Review labor utilization, overtime, staffing levels, productivity, cost-per-unit, service metrics, and overall facility performance.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality and employee safety.
  • Support annual planning, budgeting, forecasting, and operational reporting.
  • Use data and reporting to make informed decisions and communicate performance trends to leadership.


Safety, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all warehouse operations.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, company policies, customer requirements, food safety standards, equipment standards, and other applicable regulations.
  • Partner with Safety and Operations leadership to address risks, incidents, training needs, and corrective actions.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to improve efficiency, accuracy, quality, safety, and employee experience.
  • Standardize processes where possible while allowing flexibility for customer-specific operational needs.


Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, labor planning, inventory control, safety, productivity metrics, and customer service expectations.
  • Experience managing budgets, KPIs, labor costs, service metrics, and operational performance.
  • Proven ability to lead through change, solve complex operational issues, and build strong cross-functional partnerships.
  • Strong communication, coaching, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems, transportation systems, labor management tools, or ERP systems preferred.
