PositionSummary:

The Director, VQ Operations Quality Assurance is responsible for overseeing the integrity of integrations and operational support for DAR systems, with a strong focus on student, alumni, and constituent data. The position supports IT projects and production systems through testing, issue tracking, and collaboration with technical teams, while also managing critical data integrations and ensuring accurate data flow across systems. This position will work closely with the Assistant Vice Chancellor of VQ Operations and the Executive Director of Data Strategy to ensure integrations and tools are in alignment with DAR's data strategy.

KeyFunctionsandExpectedPerformance:
  • Provide testing, research and other support for IT projects and production support issues. Work with VUIT and DAR on issue resolution.
  • Oversight of integrations to VQ from other VU systems including but not limited to the student system, admissions, and faculty/staff data. This includes identifying and correcting problems, manual intervention with certain issues and processing data as necessary.
  • Maintain the integrity of Salesforce by performing regular validation of account/contact data to identify potential duplicates, overseeing the NCOA integration, and validation of other data as needed.
  • Has primary responsibility for managing specific technology solutions for DAR which may include training, technical support, and oversight of the tools. This includes serving as secondary support for other solutions.
  • Collaborate with DAR staff to interpret business needs and assist in providing technical solutions to attain the users' end goals, especially related to the capture and storage of data within Salesforce.
  • Learns capabilities of technology tools and helps department take advantage of full offerings of technology.
  • Stay informed on new technology to assist in maximizing efficiency and achieving departmental goals.
  • Works with VUIT on integration requirements and testing.
  • Demonstrate a sense of ownership, focusing on and driving critical issues to closure.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of the Salesforce data to identify and elevate opportunities.
  • Handle sensitive donor, parent, friend, and student information in the strictest confidence, according to departmental and institutional policies.
  • Work cooperatively with Development and Alumni Relations colleagues.
  • Maintain strong and effective relationships with Vanderbilt faculty and staff external to DAR.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


SupervisoryRelationships:

This position does not have supervisory responsibility, this position reports administratively and functionally to the Assistant Vice Chancellor of VQ Operations.

WorkEnvironment:

Hybrid role based in Nashville - in the office approximately 1 day per week or more depending on business needs.

EducationandCertifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, or the equivalent, is required


ExperienceandSkills:
  • 5 years of relevant experience, or the equivalent, is required.
  • Background in supporting technology tools such as Salesforce, Salesforce managed packages, Apsona, AI, GiveCampus, Mythos or similar tools
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills are necessary
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in the handling of confidential information
  • Ability to use current computer technology, such as Windows, Excel, Word, Teams, Salesforce, and Salesforce related applications
  • The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, professional team player with courteous interpersonal skills and an excellent customer service attitude
  • Candidate must also have the capacity to perform in an intellectually rigorous and complex academic environment
  • The ability to apply sound judgment in all situations is required, as are excellent organizational skills with a meticulous attention to detail
