Director of Training and Education

SALMON Health and Retirement

This position will partner closely with Human Resources, Operations, clinical leadership, and department leaders to develop effective learning programs that support employee success, leadership development, regulatory compliance, and SALMON's commitment to continuous learning and excellence.

A key responsibility of this position is the administration and ongoing management of SALMON's online Learning Management System (LMS), including regulatory and compliance education, course management, employee assignments, completion tracking, reporting, and vendor coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an organization-wide training and education strategy aligned with SALMON's workforce and operational priorities.
  • Lead and continuously improve new employee orientation and onboarding programs.
  • Partner with HR, clinical, and operational leaders to identify training needs and develop effective educational programs.
  • Develop leadership and management training for current and emerging leaders.
  • Coordinate required regulatory, compliance, annual, and position-specific education.
  • Oversee SALMON's online Learning Management System (LMS), including course assignments, content management, completion tracking, reporting, and employee records.
  • Develop, upload, organize, and maintain online courses and educational content.
  • Ensure LMS records are accurate and readily available for regulatory surveys, audits, accreditation activities, and other compliance requirements.
  • Serve as SALMON's primary liaison with the LMS vendor, including troubleshooting, system enhancements, platform updates, and technical support.
  • Provide LMS training and support to managers, educators, administrators, and employees.
  • Analyze training participation, completion, compliance, and effectiveness and provide meaningful reporting to leadership.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to develop relevant and engaging educational content.
  • Support career development, leadership development, succession planning, and employee retention initiatives.
  • Build relationships with colleges, universities, vocational programs, and other educational partners.
  • Manage training resources, vendors, and the education budget as applicable.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, professional development, accountability, and excellence.

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or a related field required.

  • Experience developing and implementing organization-wide learning programs; leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in senior living, healthcare, long-term care, post-acute care, or another regulated environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience administering a Learning Management System, including course management, assignments, compliance tracking, reporting, and user administration.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, facilitation, and training evaluation.
  • Strong communication, presentation, organizational, analytical, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with executives, operational and clinical leaders, managers, educators, and frontline employees.
