Full Job Description
Scope:

This position reports to the VP, Technical Solutions in US and is responsible for providing strategic and technical leadership for Field Application Engineering. Responsibilities include clear understanding of customers PCB requirements based on the markets being served for their current and emerging designs, managing and mentoring the FAE staff. Ability to provide technical support through field application engineering related to PCB design rules, manufacturing technologies, and PCB assembly. This position will engage with customers PCB design engineers in the early stages of the design cycle and establish TTM as a preferred technology business partner.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of Field Application Engineers supporting strategic OEM, Tier 1, and EMS customers.
  • Drive technical engagement strategies across the sales cycle-from pre-sales consultation and DFM support to post-sales optimization.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between customers and internal engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams.
  • Establish and maintain best practices for technical sales support, including proposal development, customer meetings, and design reviews.
  • Oversee technical training and onboarding for FAE staff, ensuring consistent global capabilities and messaging.
  • Occasional travel to sites and customer visits are required
  • Translate customer requirements and feedback into actionable insights for product development, quality, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support strategic account planning, customer roadmap alignment, and long-term technology partnerships.
  • Lead technical presentations and consultations with key accounts, industry forums, and internal leadership.
  • Partner with marketing to develop technical sales tools, application notes, and customer-facing content.
  • Monitor industry trends and technological advancements in PCBs to keep the FAE team and sales organization informed and competitive.


Essential Knowledge and Skills:
  • PCB Design and Manufacturing: Comprehensive understanding of printed circuit board (PCB) design processes, materials, and manufacturing techniques.
  • Industry Standards: Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as IPC standards, RoHS compliance, and UL certifications.
  • Market Trends: Awareness of current trends and innovations in the PCB industry, including advancements in technology and materials.
  • Strong leadership and people development skills; proven ability to build and lead high-performing technical teams.
  • Deep technical knowledge of PCB design, fabrication, materials, stack-ups, and assembly processes.
  • Expertise in interpreting and applying industry standards and specifications (IPC, ISO, etc.).
  • Skilled communicator with the ability to deliver complex technical content in a clear, persuasive, and engaging manner.
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong interpersonal skills and executive presence.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced global environment.
  • Strong project management, analytical, and decision-making abilities.


Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline required.
  • Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in engineering roles within the PCB or electronics manufacturing industry.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role managing technical, customer-facing engineering teams.
  • Experience working with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and global design teams preferred.

Compensation for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, TTM provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in New York, California and Colorado. For California-based roles, compensation ranges are based upon specific physical locations.
