About Our Job

New hires are typically brought into the organization between $109,134-$165,000. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location & Schedule

The City and County of Denver utilizes a hybrid model workplace that balances the responsibilities of public service with the benefits of a flexible work environment. Employees work where needed, at a city site and/or in the field at least three days a week, and telecommute remotely at a designated workplace within the State of Colorado the remaining days. This policy is subject to change based on the needs of DEN operations.

The schedule will be Monday- Friday, standard business hours, with in-person days held at either our Gateway office building or Maintenance Center near Denver International Airport.

We are currently seeking a Director of Supply Services to join our team!

 

 

The Director of Supply Services serves as the senior leader responsible for the strategy, performance, modernization, and day-to-day operation of Denver International Airport's (DEN) Supply Services organization. This position oversees a diverse portfolio that includes Purchasing, Inventory Management, Receiving and Distribution, Administrative Services, Records Management, Moves and Surplus Operations, Copy Center Services, and Data & Analytics.

 

The Director is responsible for ensuring operational continuity across DEN through the effective management of supply chain operations, business services, enterprise performance data, and strategic initiatives. This leader will drive operational excellence, technology modernization, fiscal stewardship, process improvement, and customer-focused service delivery while building a high-performing organization that supports one of the world's busiest airports.

 

The ideal candidate is a strong operational leader with significant experience in supply chain, logistics, inventory management, materials management, business operations, and organizational transformation within a complex operating environment.

 

 

Key Responsibilities will include:

 

Supply Chain, Procurement & Fiscal Stewardship
Provide leadership oversight for purchasing, sourcing, supplier performance, contract compliance, spend analytics, and fiscal stewardship. Develop strategies that improve operational efficiency, vendor accountability, and value while ensuring responsible management of public resources.

 

Materials Management, Logistics & Inventory Operations
Provide leadership oversight for receiving, warehousing, inventory management, logistics, and materials planning. Drive inventory optimization, operational readiness, service continuity, and implementation of modern inventory management practices and technologies.

 

Business Transformation & Technology Modernization
Lead process improvement, technology deployment, operational standardization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives, including implementation of inventory management solutions and other strategic technology investments.

 

Data, Analytics & Performance Management
Advance a data-driven culture through KPIs, dashboards, business intelligence, and analytics. Leverage enterprise platforms to support decision-making, performance management, forecasting, and operational excellence.

 

Administrative Services Leadership
Provide strategic oversight of records management, moves management, surplus property operations, and copy center services. Ensure efficient, compliant, customer-focused service delivery while identifying opportunities for modernization and operational improvement.

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:

 

  • Experience leading supply chain, logistics, procurement, materials management, or inventory management operations in a complex operational environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale operational transformation, modernization, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience implementing inventory management, warehouse management, ERP, or enterprise technology solutions.
  • Strong experience managing operational budgets, business performance metrics, and capital or technology investments.
  • Experience developing and utilizing data analytics, business intelligence tools, and performance dashboards to drive decision-making.
  • Experience in aviation, transportation, logistics, distribution, manufacturing, healthcare, utilities, public sector, or other large operational organizations.
  • Experience managing multiple operational disciplines through subordinate managers and supervisors.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • APICS/ASCM CPIM, CSCP, CPSM, CPPO, CPPB, or other supply chain, inventory management, logistics, or procurement-related certifications preferred.

 

 

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in a related field based on a specific position(s).
  • Experience Requirement: Five (5) years of experience at the type and level of functional or operational management, which must have included management of subordinate supervisors.
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: Two (2) years of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
  • Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
  • License/Certifications: By position, requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
  • Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
