Summary of Position

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Supply Chain Management to lead and optimize all aspects of our supply chain operations, including warehouse management, transportation and logistics, retail outlet operations, and salvage/recycling programs. This role is vital to the success of our thrift retail network, ensuring efficient movement of goods, optimized driver routing, and responsible for achieving zero waste and effective handling of unsellable products through recycling and salvage brokering programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Warehouse Operations
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for all warehouse activities, including inventory control, receiving, management, and transporting donated goods.
  • Implement and maintain efficient layout, systems, and workflows to ensure accuracy, safety, and throughput.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs for warehouse performance, labor productivity, and space utilization.

Transportation & Logistics
  • Oversee all transportation logistics including fleet operations, driver scheduling, and daily route dispatching.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT and safety regulations across all logistics activities.
  • Collaborate with store operations and warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries and pickups.

Retail Outlet Operations
  • Supervise operational performance of retail outlet (clearance/thrift) locations fed by retail stores and the warehouse.
  • Drive store-level efficiency, stock flow, customer service, and adherence to branding and visual standards.

Recycling & Salvage Brokering
  • Develop and manage programs for handling unsellable goods through environmentally responsible recycling, salvage, or resale partnerships.
  • Negotiate favorable contracts and pricing for all outgoing salvage goods and recyclable materials.
  • Identify and negotiate with brokers and recyclers to maximize value recovery from waste streams.
  • Maintain accurate reporting and tracking of salvage flows to ensure transparency and sustainability goals.

Leadership & Strategy
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team across warehouse, logistics, and outlet operations.
  • Create scalable SOPs, training programs, and succession plans across all areas of responsibility.
  • Serve as a key contributor to operational strategy, budget planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • 7-10+ years of progressive experience in logistics, warehouse management, or supply chain operations, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of transportation scheduling, fleet management, and warehouse logistics.
  • Proficiency with systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (MBA or equivalent experience a plus) preferred.
