Director of Security

SUMMARY

The Director of Security will oversee the daily operations of the Safety and Security Department and to ensure the day to day completion of the Department's annual goals and objectives. This role will lead the efforts in developing a safe and secure work environment by protecting our people, assets and reputation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Major areas of responsibility/ management include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop and lead a best in class safety and security program that thrives off of strategic leadership direction.
  • Partner closely and collaborate with cross functional leaders and daily operational teams, as well as work closely with Risk Management.
  • Create and implement organizational policies and procedures that focus on mitigating risk to associates, guests and assets.
  • Direct, lead and resolve investigations of accidents, theft, property loss and other activities of relevant nature.
  • Champion Safety Committee efforts and meetings.
  • Execute and manage hotel wide safety training to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Manage and continually elevate Injury & Illness Prevention Safety Program.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3-5 years of safety & security leadership experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education
  • Knowledge of basic law enforcement
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language used in the workplace.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with guests, management and co-workers
  • Prior supervisor or management experience within security operations
  • Experience in managing of Work Comp and General Liability claims
  • Security Guard Card certified
  • Advanced computer skills and ability to work with Microsoft Office programs


PREFERRED
  • Luxury hotel experience strongly preferred


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Most work tasks are performed indoors and outdoors. Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different outlets and other departments of the Resort on a timely basis. Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill various tasks. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates. Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception. Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment. Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, camera systems and radios.

The pay scale* for this position is $97,000-$107,000 annual salary.

*The pay scale is the base salary or hourly wage range, exclusive of incentive pay such as commissions, piece rates, gratuities, and the like, that Montage reasonably expects to pay for the position.
