Position Summary:
This position is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the development, implementation, and integration of functions, systems and processes that facilitate organizational performance and excellence, including: Clinical and organizational quality, patient/resident safety, security and workplace violence prevention programs, risk management, regulatory compliance, patient experience, quality/process improvement, infection prevention, employee health and wellness, and data and information management.
Any reference in this job description to patient refers to inpatients, outpatients and long-term care residents.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or health-related field required.
- Master's degree in health-related field is preferred.
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) and/or Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in hospital risk management, safety, performance improvement (Lean/Sig Sigma) or other related quality field preferred.
- Previous leadership and/or supervisory experience is preferred.

- Ability to utilize verbal and written communication skills to address external and internal customers, including senior leadership and various other individuals.
- Demonstrable applied knowledge of business processes and process improvement methodologies.
- Ability to influence and shape work, progress, and processes without ownership or control.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with departments.
- Ability to lead assignments from inception through completion.
- Ability to illustrate current and future state using appropriate diagramming methodologies.
- Knowledge of principles and methodologies of change management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, time management and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal and team skills.
- Strong computer skills required including expertise of Microsoft Office tools.
- Ability to display high degree of discretion and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of and/or experience working with the EPIC electronic medical record.
- Knowledge of and/or experience working with Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS), Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS), Medicare, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), or other payor programs beneficial.
