Position Summary
Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Inpatient Rehabilitation is seeking Director of Rehabilitation Service. The Director of Rehabilitation The Director of Rehabilitation Services provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership across designated rehabilitation programs, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered, and cost-effective care. Serving as a core leader for the assigned business unit, the Director oversees operations, staffing, quality outcomes, financial stewardship, regulatory compliance, and program development. The Director collaborates closely with Administration, Operations Managers and/or Supervisors to align daily operations with organizational goals and to maintain a culture of safety, excellence, engagement, and continuous improvement.
Shift: DaysResponsibilities
What you will do- Strategic & Operational Leadership: Develops and executes business and operational plans that align with systemwide goals and strategic priorities. Anticipates future needs of rehabilitation services and integrates long-range planning into everyday leadership. Oversees daily operations for assigned rehabilitation programs, ensuring appropriate staffing, resource utilization, policy adherence, and workflow efficiency. Establishes clear expectations, performance metrics, and workflows to enhance efficiency and patient access. Collaborates with Administration, Operations Managers and/or Supervisors to maintain consistent standards of practice and performance across assigned rehabilitation programs.
- Clinical Quality, Safety & Compliance: Ensures the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based rehabilitation evaluation and treatment in accordance with professional standards and regulatory requirements. Ensures compliance with accrediting bodies and organizational regulatory standards. Partners with clinical leaders to monitor patient outcomes, implement performance improvement initiatives, and address quality or safety gaps. Champions a culture that prioritizes safe, high-quality, patient centered care.
- Financial & Business Management Oversees budgeting, revenue cycle alignment, capital planning, and cost-containment strategies to support sustainable growth. Analyzes financial and operational data to identify opportunities for efficiency, improved throughput, and optimized access to services.
- Team Leadership & Culture: Directly supports Operations Managers and/or Supervisors. Develops a culture of accountability, psychological safety, and professional development. Supports growth of Operations Manager and/or Supervisors and clinical staff; promotes learning and mentorship. Supports team engagement, communication flow, coaching, and succession planning. Guides team through change with transparency, clarity, adaptability and empathy. Communicates effectively across all levels of leadership, fostering alignment and shared accountability.
- Program Development & System Integration: Identifies opportunities to expand access, introduce new programs or technologies, and improve the patient journey across the continuum of care. Collaborates with interdisciplinary leaders to ensure integration of services within broader hospital and outpatient operations. Builds strong relationships with nursing, medicine, care coordination, quality, administrative, and corporate rehab teams. Works closely with marketing to develop robust multifaceted plans to promote supported rehab programs within communities served. Ensures goals and vision of rehab services align with organizational strategies.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- Participates in corporate and divisional meetings, as well as community activities to promote Orlando Health across the enterprise.
Qualifications
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or higher in a rehabilitation field.
- Five (5) years of related experience to include three (3) years of supervisory or management experience within a rehabilitation setting.
- Current license in the State of Florida as an Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Audiologist or Speech Language Pathologist. If Speech Language Pathologist, must also have current Certificate of Clinical Competence.
- Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
