  • Train leadership on conducting internal Tracers and best practices for quality assessments.
  • Oversee AMP Tracer activities, including training for leadership on the AMP website and tracking activities.
  • Develop training modules for Behavioral Health staff to enhance quality service delivery.

Full Job Description
Work Shifts

9:00 A.M - 5:00 P.M

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Recommend organizational objectives related to strategic plans, establish service goals and identify problems affecting the quality of service.
  2. Serve as advisor to senior leadership on matters pertaining to quality management.
  3. Assume a project manager role in Joint Commission preparations for Behavioral Health Services (including Substance Use Disorders).
  4. Assist with maintaining responsibility for continual survey readiness within Behavioral Health Services (including Substance Use Disorders).
  5. Train department leads, supervisors and senior leaders on how to conduct Tracers, as an internal Mock Surveyor.
  6. Lead AMP Tracer activities (i.e., Instruct leadership and department heads on use of AMP website, maintain and track tracer activity).
  7. Develop trainings for Behavioral Health staff including PeopleSoft Modules.
  8. Review and advise on policy development procedures, BH regulatory compliance activities, quality metric selection and analysis, Performance Improvement Projects
  9. Develop initiatives to facilitate regulatory compliance
  10. Assist Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) with automated processing of involuntary admissions to NICS (The National Instant Criminal Background Check System)
  11. Train NYC H & H facilities staff on the automated reporting process of involuntary admissions.
  12. Other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications
1. Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Quality Management, Hospital Administration, Health Care Administration, or in a related health care specialization; and five (5)years of experience in the development of organizational strategies and implementation of staffing plans, regulatory survey preparation and compliance, and in performance improvement and/or continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives in a hospital or health care setting, three (3) years of which must have been in a responsible administrative, managerial or supervisory capacity; or,
2.Bachelor's degree in the disciplines as described in "1" above; and seven (7) years of related experience, as listed in "1" above, five (5) years of which must have been in a responsible administrative, managerial or supervisory capacity; or,
3.Bachelor's degree in the disciplines as described in "1" above; and two (2) years of clinical, patient careor equivalent experience in a hospital or health care setting, plus three (3) years of related experience,as listed in "1" above, one (1) year of which must have been in a responsible administrative, managerialor supervisory capacity; or
4.A satisfactory equivalent of education, training, and/or experience. Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) may be substituted for one (1) year of experience, however, all incumbents must have at least a bachelor's degree and one (1) year of responsible administrative, managerial or supervisory experience, as described in "1" above.
