Job Description

Manages all daily aspects of Quality Assurance, Quality Compliance and Document Management for Mantrose Group products, which includes Functional Systems (PFI and Holton), VerdeCoat, Mantrose-Haeuser Food Coatings and NatureSeal Food Protection products. This role assures adherence to all QA programs, Kosher, Halal, Organic and GFCO standards, maintains all documentation associated with all certification bodies and oversees daily QA duties of Mantrose Group, working with quality resources at all locations. This position will also be responsible for managing the SQF audit process and management of documentation required for customers.

KEY DUTIES & MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinates and performs customer/supplier audits annually, as required.
  • Manages SQF quality program and all SOP updates/reviews.
  • Manages SQF audit with operations managerial team assist.
  • Manages all CAPAs at all manufacturing locations for the Mantrose Group.
  • Manages all governing agency certifications & audits (Kosher, Organic, Halal, USDA, FDA Biodegradable).
  • Manage creation or amendments to SOP's & controlled document records for QA dept.
  • Leads implementation/training of D365 & Product Vision systems.
  • Travel requirements to other locations as needed.
  • Works together with all managers within the operations team leading food safety culture/FSMA standards.
  • Oversees Compliance manager.
  • Oversees Lab lead and all QA technicians (on boarding, disciplinary action, hiring)
  • Oversees all process change amendments.
  • Manages document management team.
  • Compiles month end reporting for the QA department
  • Working with R&D on development & optimization of test methods and establishing specifications
  • Utilize monitoring tools/ programs to track quality performance and identify out of control trends.
  • Responsible for documenting all reportable events in RPM portal.
  • Manages/oversees expired materials & dispositions for the department.
  • Manages/distributes Monthly QA training for SQF.
  • Oversees product dispositions and quality utilization for "Move the pile".
  • Oversees all new business opportunities with operations team for FSMA/SQF requirements.
  • Manages pest control contract service/issues.


REQUIREMENTS /SKILLS:
  • Four-year degree in Food Science or 5-10 years of experience in QA
  • Knowledge of Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Previous work experience in Quality Assurance (preferably with Food Manufacturing Industry background) minimum of 4 years.
  • Critical decision-making skills and ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience managing a QA team of various skill levels and backgrounds.


Physical Requirements

Some standing, walking, moving, carrying, bending, kneeling, reaching, handling, pushing and pulling. Ability to lift 20lbs.
