Position Summary:The Director of Projects & Technical Services provides strategic leadership for the company's engineering, construction, fabrication, quality and commissioning functions. This position supports the department's mission of delivering safe, efficient and profitable execution of projects, while providing technical leadership, resource coordination, and continuous improvement. The Director partners closely with operations and business development teams to ensure projects are executed safely, effectively and in alignment with company goals.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties - Lead all Projects & Technical Services functions across the company
- Ensure safe efficient and profitable execution of projects and technical activities
- Provide technical leadership and support to operational business units
- Manage engineering, construction, fabrication, quality and commissioning resources
- Support business development through technical solutions and customer engagement
- Oversee project execution planning, resource allocation, and performance monitoring
- Ensure technical compliance with customer, regulatory and company requirements
- Support proposal development, estimating, and company requirements
- Monitor project performance, budgets, schedules, and resource utilization
- Coordinate technical support across Operations, Midstream, and Transportation
- Support development and implementation of company standards and best practices
- Lead technical problem-solving and resolution of escalated project issues
- Support organizational development and succession planning within technical disciplines
- Participate in operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and innovation
- Ability and willingness to travel to other company locations and project sites, as business needs require
- Direct Reports: Engineering Lead, Construction Manager, QA/QC Manager, Commissioning Manager, Fabrication Manager, and additional technical resources as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements - Bachelor's degree in engineering (required)
- Master's degree, PE license, or advanced technical certifications preferred
- Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering, construction, fabrication, industrial projects, energy, or related industries required
- Minimum 5 years of leadership responsibility managing technical teams, projects, execution, engineering deliverables, and customer facing technical activities
- Preferred certifications: PE, API/ASME, PMP, OSHA 30 and Lean Six Sigma
Physical Demands and Work Environment:- Frequently operates a computer and other standard office equipment
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working in an office environment
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, reach and lift up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to travel to project sites, fabrication facilities, and customer locations as needed
- Ability to inspect field operations, which may require walking on uneven surfaces, climbing stairs, and wearing required PPE
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, industrial environments, noise, moving equipment, and construction activities may occur during site visits
