Full Job Description
The Director of Project Management provides strategic leadership and oversight for the Project Management department, ensuring successful delivery of every active project by driving operational excellence, financial performance, and client satisfaction. The Director partners closely with the Director of Field Operations and VP of Operations to align office and field execution, optimize resource planning, and maintain consistent standards across the full PM organization. This role is accountable to the executive team for department-wide results, not the outcome of any single project.

Essential Functions:
  • Owns department-level financial performance, utilization, margin, and forecast targets
  • Assigns PM resources to projects and provides strategic guidance on staffing and issue resolution
  • Maintains the PM career progression framework and drives succession planning
  • Leads recruiting, onboarding, mentoring, and performance management for all project management staff
  • Ensures adherence to JEM Group safety policy and consistent QA/QC standards department-wide
  • Oversees manpower forecasting and reviews project KPIs across the portfolio
  • Serves as the primary liaison between Project Management, Field Operations, and Executive Leadership
  • Drives company-level business development strategy in partnership with executive leadership


Experience:
  • 10+ years of progressive project management experience in commercial construction
  • Demonstrated success leading, developing, and scaling high-performing project management teams
  • Project experience across commercial office, healthcare, education, retail, and light industrial sectors
  • Experience with General Construction, Design-Build, and Construction Management at Risk (CMAR) delivery methods
  • Track record of department- or portfolio-level financial oversight, not just individual project delivery


Technical Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency in project controls, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with AIA contract documents and LEED principles
  • Strong command of project financial oversight; forecasting, cost controls, change management, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Working knowledge of Procore and other project management platforms used across the department
