This role is a great fit for someone who loves staying close to client work and who also takes pride in building the systems, rhythms and people that make great delivery happen consistently.

What You Will Do

  • Assign and balance delivery leadership across portfolios, ensuring every portfolio and project has clear ownership and appropriate capacity.
  • Establish consistent portfolio reviews and reporting that give leadership clear, reliable visibility into delivery and financial performance.
  • Lead, coach and develop portfolio and project leaders, set clear expectations and address performance directly
  • Recruit for delivery roles and build a pipeline of future delivery leaders.
  • Build trusted client relationships that support satisfaction, repeat business and renewals.
  • Lead delivery input on proposals and procurement responses, and identify opportunities for growth within existing client work.
  • Continuously improve our delivery model, standards and tools in collaboration with our architecture, design and technology teams.

What You Bring
  • 7+ years of client-facing senior management experience in professional services, including delivery operations and contract management.
  • 5+ years of project or portfolio management experience on medium to large IT projects, including program-level budgets, risks and issues.
  • Proven experience leading and coaching project managers or delivery leads, not only individual contributors.
  • Experience overseeing multiple concurrent projects or portfolios with annual budgets in the range of $1 million to $5 million, or comparable complexity.
  • Experience in a billable delivery leadership role, balancing personal utilization with management responsibilities.
  • Experience across the full lifecycle of custom software development, delivery and support, including Agile delivery practices.
  • Experience establishing or improving portfolio governance, delivery standards or management reporting.
  • Strong communication skills, sound judgement and the ability to lead executive-level business and technology discussions.
  • Post-secondary education in IT, business or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Assets
  • Experience delivering for BC public sector clients, including familiarity with BC government procurement.
  • An established network within the BC public and private sector IM/IT community.
  • Experience contributing to proposals and competitive procurement responses.
